Wrong Birth State on I-130 & G-325A

Hello Everyone,

I (Petitioner) just found out that I listed the wrong birth state for my Hubby (Beneficiary) on both the I-130 & G-325A (I have no idea what I was thinking ).

We are still in the NVC stage awaiting for our submission of the DS-230. So I was wondering if I should try and correct both forms before submitting the DS-230 (since the birth certificate info will not match the I-130 nor G-325A) OR should I just put the correct info on the DS-230 and don't do anything with the other 2 forms?

If I should correct both forms, how do I go about doing that?

P.S. The description is incorrect for this post (ughhhh!!!) It should say 'For Beneficiary' - not For Petitioner

I can't believe the case made it this far with that type of error. As to what to do I would definately correct it on any forms going forward. A brief note to the NVC with an explanation may not be a bad idea. At least it shows them you are not trying to be fraudulent.

Yes, you should get it corrected before it is too late. Correct the forms you have before you send them, attach a note, with the forms when you send them to NVC. Also follow up with a call to USCIS and NVC.

Going though Lagos you don't want a CO asking where your spouse was born and you failing because it is wrong on the forms.

I believe its the other way round. The USC wife put down the wrong info for the NIgerian hubby. Sure Hubby knows where he is born but if his answer differs from the forms then there's trouble...

Better to correct the wrong info at NVC. Write a cover letter explaining the need for the change.

If you haven't sent the DS-230 you can correct the mistake on there and make sure you mention it at the interview. The LAST thing you want is the Lagos CO thinking you don't know enough about your husband

The g 325 has to be signed by the person it is for. I hope she didn't sign for hubby

Thanks everyone for your responses and advice. I have not sent in the DS-230 yet, so the information will be correct on that and I will also attach a note as you all have suggested. Calling NVC is not a bad idea either. I will do that tonight when I get home (hopefully I can get through).

@Tero: Is there a reason I should call USCIS? I am out of that stage now...I'm in NVC.

@MrsO.: You are correct. I (the Petitioner) filled out the info wrong on the Beneficiary's form (Doofus me...can't even post correctly in a forum, the topic description should have said "For Beneficiary" not "For Petitioner". I didn't know how to change it. )

@Candian_Wife: Thanks...on your G-325A, how did you go about correcting that after you mailed them? Was that at the USCIS stage or NVC?

@NigeriaorBust: No I did not sign the G-325A for my hubby...we filled it out together online and I emailed the final to him, which he printed and signed. Obviously he did not catch the error either...Ughhh!!

I didn't correct the G325A. I simply made a note of it on the Ds-230

Hi, I have filed I130 and G325a form for my wife. I mentioned wrong date of birth of my wife. Instead of writing 15-Dec-1989, I wrote 15-Nov-1989. I mentioned this wrong date in I130 and also G325a form. How do I correct it?
