Murder is illegal.

Abortion isn't; and IMO trying to equate the two is just one person trying to morally impact the life of someone else and stand in judgement of them as far as their choices concerning what they do as far as having an abortion or not.

Regardless I was addressing the hypothetical situation that the OP presented.

I personally don't think i could have an abortion--but that doesn't mean i think differently or judge someone else that has......#######? I've never walked in their shoes and it's not up to you or me or anyone to try and make people live more by our personal morals. That's why we have a supposedly impartial law....and that law says it's legal.

Once again you left the most important part of this problem out. It isnt all about the woman, shame on you.

nope. I never even think about it unless there's an abortion conversation. it wasn't a hard decision. a mistake was made and I fixed it.

I get the feeling that you purposely talk about your abortion so nonchalantly to get under pro-lifers skin. I know people in my life that I love and have had abortions. Both of which regretted it and are pro-life now. I dont know you but it puzzles me that you can take such a action(abortion) so lightly or is this just a front?

How lightly do you take the use of contraception?

Rationally speaking it's the exact same principle.

Simpson, you're absurd.

Please do explain.

I would agree that the point in the pregnancy the woman decided to have a abortion would determine the emotional toll.

Well, think of it this way...The insect inside of her that was days old, smaller than a mm, weighed nothing or maybe a tenth of a gram....Got a free pass to Heaven. Lucky kid!

Well by now you should know I'm not religious so I get no comfort in the free pass to Heaven. You assumed it was very early in pregnancy that she had the abortion and it probably was.

While this is likely to be true, it wasn't really my point, nor does it say anything about how women "should" feel.

To imply some kind of lack of moral fortitude, simply because someone is able to overcome an essentially illusory (i.e. evolutionarily mandated) growth/attachment correlation, is moronically judgmental.

Something is wrong with a person if they have a abortion at 6 months and isnt emotional about it. I personally think Amby is putting on a front to piss of pro-life people or she had it very early in her pregnancy.

There is a attachment issue and no its not moronic to think so.

Are we conjuring up demons worthy of our hate or is there an actual person we're talking about who aborted at 6 months (that's half a year, 26 weeks) and doesn't feel 'emotional' about it?

(i havent read the last few pages and don't really want to)

Even the woman who had a man's support but lost it?

If a guy leaves a pregnant woman and she's not able to care for it on her own, isn't she morally obligated to abort it?
