How much longer after NOA2

So, if lucky, after the five-month wait, Aprox, how longer will i have to wait for the interview?

It really varies from consulate to consulate. Look at the timelines of other VJ members with Spanish beneficiaries and see the trends. By doing this you can get an idea of how long it takes in Spain to get the cita after NOA 2, but also remember that every case is different!

Best wishes!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

it also depends on how fast you move

how long you take to pay fees and submit documents

gotta tell u, except for the medical exams, i pretty much have ready all the documents ( i checked the K1 information in the embassy website ). What kinda bothered me is the fact that they ask me to take money to The USA, that´s rude man. I think they want u to take with you more than 5,000.

there´s a form we have to fill in which they ask u how much money u taking to The USA.

Also, i´ve read on this website, that someone took with him 5,000 and told him at the intervie that he needed twice that money in order to be given the visa.

They want to make sure they won´t have to help you.

Mmmhhh... They may ask you how much money you are bringing to the USA (just as they do ask whenever you travel to a foreign country), but the question would be made so that you pay taxes if you bring over US$10,000 as you have to declare larger amounts of cash. Yet, I do not believe there is a "minimum" amount to bring plus, are they going to make you count the money in front of them or they will prevent you from entering the USA? It would not make sense.

I'm going to get in trouble for this, but please find the Humor. I never heard of such a thing and I think you may have read it wrong. The earlier posts are correct. A limit of $10.000.00. But why would you do that? Why would anyone do that. It is not required in any shape or form. Are you going to Check-in $10,000.00 as carry-on luggauge in a briefcase. OMG! LOL. They will think you just sold a bunch of drugs and never pass security. LOL.. It's fine to have that in a Bank Account, wish we all did. Good Luck! I'm in Trouble.

If I remember correctly, there is a certain amount you are only allowed to have on you in CASH when traveling to the USA. That was $10,000.00 (again, why would anyone do that. When I went to the Philipphines I believe I was only allowed 5000 in Pesos. So that might be the confusion. ) They are talking about how much money you are allowed on your person. (Wallet)

what i understood is not that u have to carry it with u and show it to the Immigration Officer, but to take proof of a deposit in a USA bank to show during ur interview at the embassy so that they know u won´t become another charge for Government.

That´s what i read twice, perhaps i misunderstood it. If i misunderstood it it will b good ´coz then i´ll b able to have 3 meals a day again, hahaha.

I think you have misunderstood the information from one issue that is true; the USC petitioner DOES have to prove that the beneficiary will not become a public charge by providing the affidavit of support and proving that the petitioner's income is at least 125% of the porverty guideline for his or her household size. Yet, there is no need for the beneficiary to show savings or economic solvency, at all.

Then my fiancé will have to stop having 3 meals a day..... I´m kidding. We both have decent salaries.

Thank you.
