One of the questions asks for my wifes "Nonimmigrant Visa Number", but when we look at the k1 visa stamped into her passport it only displays a "Control Number" are these numbers the same or do we need to look else where for her visa number?

Another question... " In what status did you last enter? (Visitor, student, exchangealien, crewman, temporary worker, without inspection, etc.) " Do we put k-1 or Fiance or what for this question?

Were you inspected by a U.S. Immigration Officer? - Does this refer to when she was taken aside and asked questions regarding me and her (k-1) visa upon her entry into the US?

Current Occupation ? She is a student, but is currently not enrolled in school yet. Do we put Student or place an None in the box?

what would her current Current USCIS Status be if she just came in on a K-1 Visa and we were just married?

Thanks for the help in advance.

No, that's the Alien Number. The visa number is different. If the control number is the only long number on your visa then that's the one you want, Control Number sounds right but I don't my Visa on me right now to check.

The visa number is the only number in RED!!!! It's not the A# and it isn't the number at the bottom of the visa. We had this same question when filing so I know that it's the red number. YES you were inspected by an officer and you were a K1 visa holder. This was a tricky question about the occupation.. we put unemployed but I think student would work. :D Your current USCIS status would be pending adjustment of status...at least thats what we put but I could be wrong..if I am I hope someone can correct me.! :D I hope that helped alittle! Good Luck with everything adn keep us all updated!!

Can anyone else confirm that the red number stamped onto the visa (does not have any description just a red number on the visa) is the "Nonimmigrant Visa Number"? Thank you all.

lfogle,

Either the Control Number or the red number will do.

This is not a big deal item - note that you must submit a photocopy of the visa with the application. If they don't like the number you give them they can pick the one they want.

YuAndDan,

Not all consulates put the A# on the visa.
