Are you worried..?

This is rare as IOs dont do surprised visits from what I know however the stokes unit would carry out such investigations. If they are "tipped" off they may not pop up but carry out the procedure when the petitioner/applicant are interviewed and if they had no intent to schedule an interview any tip would allow an interview to be set up.

They just exaggerate esp the people actin like they know everything and tellin people stories like that. Thats why i find it weird if the immigration really do surprise visits.

(This has been argued exhaustively in previous threads.) Federal agents, and in fact other police, work for the State (the Federal government or an actual "state"). The State is after two things: revenue, and bodies. Consenting to let them enter our home, or talking to them freely, only leads to trouble. If they're visiting or questioning us, they have the upper hand, and they're counting on startling or intimidating us into surrendering our rights so that they can achieve their goals. The optimal response is "Agent ____, it's nothing personal with you at all, but I never surrender my Constitutional rights. As a Federal agent, surely you can understand that. Please leave your contact information, and you'll be contacted at the earliest opportunity. Thanks very much for your time and your interest."

How many of us have willingly consented to have our cars searched during a routine traffic stop, just because an officer asks for it? How many of us commit "diarrhea of the mouth" when an officer asks leading questions? The good that we think will come of it is that "The more we cooperate, the sooner he'll be satisfied and go away." It works quite the opposite. The best responses are a POLITE "It's nothing personal with you at all, Sir, but I don't have to answer that. Am I free to go?"
