Do you get a letter from USCIS if your case has been transferred from MSC to another service center? I got my EAD a few weeks ago and I just curious about the status of my AOS.

If your AOS case is transferred to California you will get a notification in writing of the transfer. This normally generates 2 e-notifications - one when it leaves Missouri and then another when it arrives in Cali.

If you are going to have an interview normally you will just get a notification that you are being scheduled for an interview. You will get a written notification of the interview but not a "transfer" notice as such.

Thanks for the information. When we filed for my paper work, I did not sign up for the updates via email and text from USCIS, I only signed up the beginning of this year. But I never got a letter from USCIS that my case has been transferred, so more than likely it is still with MSC. At least I got my EAD card, just a little bit concerned because they have not touched it since November 26, 2010 for the I130 and November 15, 2010 for the I485. But I guess my situation is a little bit different than other people.

If you filed a I-130 along with your I-485, then you are posting in the wrong forum. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-tourist-visas/ The forum I linked is for people who file a I-130/I-485 concurrently. If you post in the current forum, then you will get answers not specific to your case type (and they might be wrong because people will assume you are adjusting from K-1, which is what this current forum is for).

To answer your question - If you did indeed file a concurrent I-130/485 application, then you will be required to have an interview at your local office. You will not get a notice of transfer at all, nor a touch. You will just get a letter in the mail about a month in advance notifying you of your appointment date. Good luck.
