Waiting in NVC

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who has recently been passed on from the NVC to their consulate. How long did it take between your NOA2 and receiving package 3? We're currently waiting for our new case number from NVC.

It's been almost a month since I got my NOA2 and I still have not received Packet 3.

Doesn't the consulate send Packet 3? That would mean that lack of it does not mean you are still in NVC.

Yes, the petition is only at NVC for a few days. It simply gets assigned a new case number.

NVC has been slow since Dec. 2010. My case was approved on December 2, 2010 and is still there after submitting AOS and immigrant visa documentation and fees. I was told today to wait another two weeks for processing

K visa pass through the NVC very rapidly. This is not true for other types of visas.

Yes, usually this is true - but not always. We were randomly selected for "additional processing" which kept our case at the NVC for 50 days. All you can do is keep calling to confirm when your case has actually been sent on to your consulate.
