I am so happy for you. At least someone's journey went as scheduled! Hope to be where u are at too in no time. Went to the pick up centre as planned. The lady there told me to call back on friday at 2pm cos, visas are delivered to the centre only twice everyweek - Tuesdays and Fridays. So since we missed yesterday, the next day to look out for is Friday. And she also confirmed that there were others too whose visas were not ready too.

Someone I met on my interview day also could not pick up today, so that confirmed to me it was a general thingy. DebbyNseyi I think u escaped this wait cos u guys were the morning set. Anyways, whichever way, pls uphold us in your prayers.

Congrats again!

Thanks, Admire....I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi Admire,

congrats i would say....at least you got a letter telling you about the delay. Some people actually go to the visa pick up point only to be told it wasnt ready to check back in a couple of days. You have been given less stress by the heads up. Take care and it should be out soon.

So, I couldn't sit still and make the friday 2 o'clock call to the pick up centre as instructed, hence I found my way all the way there again, and that was not until after a brief detour to the embasst security post where the guy that normally runs things laughed in my phase and declared my non-ready-for-pick-up visa does not qualify for a delayed visa yet....come back when u still havent received it in 2 weeks he said.

I went ahead to the pick up centre waiting for the appointed time. At 2.15pm the UPS van arrived with about 3 to 4 bags of visas and envelopes, And there began the chaos of angry pick-upers, everybody willing his packet to be amongst.

Lo and behold, mine was not there still. The other couple got theirs. Another persons interviewed on the 27th (a day after moi) got her's too after not being able to collect it the day earlier.

Interesting though were these women from a 24th of Jan interview witha pick=up of the 31st - still no passports in sight.

And there was the guy from the 26th that received a a call from the embassy that afternoon to return to the embassy on monday with ALL of his documents!!! I wonder how his weekend's been going???

Finally, I noted that the dates of issuance were different even for same family members! some were issued on the 1st and the rest of the family were 3rd???

What does all this mean? I think there's a breakdown of order somewher up there.

A lot of pple went home angry and sad.

As for me, I aint going until I hear from them that it's all ready. Tis not a very good feeling, seeing that which ypu really long for, so close yet so far!

Arrrrrrrrr, I need a closure to this 6 year visajourney of my life. We want to be with Daddy.

Nice weekend to y'all. Thanks for listening to me.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this heartache & frustration after receiving the wonderful news at the interview that you were approved! I don't understand what's going on! It looks like something did indeed breakdown in the process somewhere. I agree with you that you should wait to be called when it's ready. The experience you describe above sounds very demeaning and stressful. I wish I could offer some concrete advice on what to do, but all I can offer you is the wish that I hope that this all gets resolved quickly and you and your children can be reunited with your husband as soon as possible. My thoughts & prayers are with you.
