VISA NOT READY FOR PICK UP????!!!

Hi everyone. I am so sorry I havent kept to my promise of telling y'all how the interview went. I havent really been that well, i think the toll of all the preparation is finally....

My last topic was meant to be titled: "VISA GRANTED", AND NOT "visa in hand", as i later realised i wrote, maybe the hand was writing what the heart desired.

Pple, am at anoter cross-road here o. I was meant to go to the pick-up centre tomorrow according to the pick-up letter the gave me, only for me to receive the underneath today" pls help, what in the world could this mean? Another AP??????? Systems are down they couldnt print visas or what???????? Or what?????? After visa approved??? I AM SUPER-DEFLATED.

It reads:

Dear applicant,

This is to notify you that your visa is not ready for pick up. You shall be contacted and informed when the visas are ready to be picked up.

2011-03-15: Picked up Visas. Oh My God!

2011-03-21: POE, Atlanta Georgia. Find it hard to believe this is truly happening. Thank you God.

NOW IN THE US.

2011-03-28: Received our Social Security Cards in the Mail.

2011-04-08: Received Green Cards.

AP is conducted if they have any doubt during the paperwork, interview, or if the beneficiary's name has a hit in the database.

You might be suffering a delay now..

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong..

I agree with the previous poster that it is the machine that has broken down again. I wouldn't worry to much for now. To me, the way it's worded it reads when the "visas" are ready they will notify you. I would take it as it's more than one. Cheer up! You will get it in no time. :thumbs:

Yeah, well after a while I started to think the same thing as you Naijabound and Nigeriaorbust, well, because my hubby called the Dept of State to enquire what might be wrong and the 3 times he called they were unable to help cause according to them their systems were frozen. That made me think it maybe it was a connecting factor to why they couldn’t print the visas yet? I got the mail close to end of business, at about 3.30pm.

Ok, wld try and be there tomorrow still maybe I might get some light shed on it.

And, yes, there are 3 VISAS in all, mine, my daughter and my son.

Don't worry...I've heard of these delays before in Lagos. There are so many times that the visas are not ready when they are supposed to be. My husband is scheduled to pick up his visa from VFS Global in Lekki tomorrow morning (his visa was approved the same day as yours!) It will be nice if it's ready but I won't be that surprised if it's not. That's why we're waiting until he physically has the visa in his hand before we book his airfare. My congrats to you and your husband...don't stress...just be patient for a bit longer! :star:

I don't see anything in the letter that hints an AP. There's just a delay in getting the visa ready and I think they are working on it. Relax, and start thinking about travel plans.

Thanks so much! I actually spoke to my husband this morning and he was able to pick up his visa. I believe that because you are waiting for 3 of them, it's taking longer. Tero is right. I am so happy for you. At least someone's journey went as scheduled! Hope to be where u are at too in no time. Went to the pick up centre as planned. The lady there told me to call back on friday at 2pm cos, visas are delivered to the centre only twice everyweek - Tuesdays and Fridays. So since we missed yesterday, the next day to look out for is Friday. And she also confirmed that there were others too whose visas were not ready too.

Someone I met on my interview day also could not pick up today, so that confirmed to me it was a general thingy. DebbyNseyi I think u escaped this wait cos u guys were the morning set. Anyways, whichever way, pls uphold us in your prayers.
