Hello All,

My wife and step-son have received their Green Card back in July 2010. But we did not have to go to a interview. Here is my question, If and when we travel outside the USA, which I know is going to happen, what do they need to take with them to get back in the USA?

Thank You,

If the green card is in your wife's married name, then she needs her Philippine passport and her green card to re-enter the U.S.

If the name on her green card and the name on her Philippine passport do not match (meaning, one is in her maiden name and the other is in her married name), then aside from her Philippine passport and her green card she also needs a copy of your marriage certificate to re-enter the U.S.

Your stepson needs his Philippine passport and his green card to re-enter the U.S.

If you suspect you will be outside the US for more than 6 months, then they both need to acquire re-entry permits from USCIS aside from the documents listed above.
