After using the AP for the first time and I-94 is issued and a stpamp is put on the AP document. The Stamp states it is valid for another year. Does this mean we do not have to file a renewal for an entire additional year ?

I am not sure what your question is. What is a renewal? A renewal of what?

When using AP, they will stamp you with your AP stamp in the passport, and the one-year is an arbitrary date. You are paroled into the country in order to continue to pursue your AOS application. Once a decision has been made (approval or denial) then you either become a permanent resident, or are asked to leave the country.

Once you become a permanent resident and get your GC, you do not need AP anymore. That is temporary travel permission while your AOS is pending. Good luck.
