Check the status case online

Hello everybody,

I sent my AOS package on January 25th, 2011

today they cashed the both checks ($420 and $1070)

I heard that the number behind the check could be also the receipt number

I tried both number and they don't match with any case, so maybe it is just too soon

At the same time, I sent two checks so I got two different numbers

both started by three letters "MSC" and then 10 numbers.

on the USCIS' website they said "To view the status of a case, please enter the corresponding application receipt number. The 13-character application receipt number can be found on application notices you have received from the USCIS. It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC)"

I can't find MSC letters

just curious if someone had the same experience I mean use the # from the check and if its working

I think I will receive an email or mail or text with the receipt #, very soon now ;-)

Your first 3 letter followed by 10digits. which is MSCxxxxxxxxxx , no spaces or dashes whatsoever..

Yes it is, MSCxxxxxxxxxx, but each one is different on the back of the check, like the first one ending by 855 the other one 856

I tried both number without dash or space or any character else, in fact in the field when you try to enter the number you can not enter more than 13 characters

Missouri Service Center (MSC) (This is normal for I-485 filings) so a MSC number assigned

The online status system can take some time to get this information. Probably after you get NOA1 letters.

In some cases I have seen number on back of check is different than the actual numbers assigned.

You will get two case numbers - one for the I-130 the other for the I-485 (if that's what you sent). After assigning the number, it can take several days until the case shows up online. USCIS tends to state that you need to wait at least until you have a physical NOA in hand.

yes I sent I-130, I-485, I-765, I-864, I-693, I-131

I guess I will wait for the mail, It's just the begining and I am already hurry, I have to calm downnnnn

Sent to Chicago, numbers on the checks not working. Called them this morning, was told nothing was wrong so far, but need to wait longer....

to add timeline:

go to "setting" --> "profile"---> "change signature", then type whatever you want to appear...

hakim, you edit your signature to show your timeline. There is also a VJ "timeline" feature in your profile, but that won't show on the forums. Good luck.

When I read your timeline, they cashed the check after you received email/text notification of acceptance from USCIS and a hard copy NOA1 in mail

in my case they just cashed the checks, no text no email no mail and I filled the G-1145,E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
