Question about translated documents

While waiting for one more document from my fiance, I have a translation question. My fiance's cousin is helping with the documents that need to be translated from Thai to English (she's Thai). Marriage, birth, divorce certificate, etc. We have a copy of each, plus a Word document prepared by her cousin translated from Thai to English. We then have all the translated documents Notarized and also stamped and signed by a certified Thai translator. Should this be sufficient?

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

Yes cousin can translate, and just needs to make notation that they are competant to translate, sign date, and add their contact info just in case the official wishes to ask a question about the translation. Signing it this is the act of "certifying" the translation, no notarization needed.

Thank you. I thought what her cousin did was sufficient. I was just reading here that some members were running into problems with their divorce certificates. The copy that my fiance provided from Thailand was a copy from the courts with a stamp, but I'm not sure if it has the judges signature (it's at home). This is an official copy, so I would think it will be ok...
