I am married and have two kids, My husband and I stayed in Mauritius and we are both Mauritians.

I have made an application for the Permanent resident (skilled worker visa) for Canada.

I have already passed all the steps for the visa like interview etc, now I am on final procedure where I have got my letter to undergo medical examination.

But before doing that I need to submit my husband's Good Conduct Certificate of Jordan, as the latter has worked in Jordan from March 2000 to Sep 2000.

I have called the GID of Jordan in April of last year where a lady has asked me to send an application letter to the GID which I did.

We do not have a Jordan Embassy in Mauritius that's our main problem I guess and we do not speak and understand the Arabic.

Then I called her to check if she has received but she said that she had never received my letter. When I checked with my local post they said it was delivered.

I then tried to call that lady again and again but the GID receptionist always said that she is not there which with time I have understand that she doesn't want to take my call.

Then last October, i have met a Jordanian,on net, who agreed to help us, so i gave him a Power of Attorney signed by the Consulate of Jordan in Ireland as my husband was working there at that time. Now he is back in mauritius.

The Jordanian guy said that at the begining the GID officer didnt want to do it but accept finally but asked for a certificate to confirm that my husband has not cross the border in Jordan, which he succeeded in getting.

Then after one week when he went to check they said it was in final office. After two days the same officer said that the Power of Attorney is not good as it is not signed by an embassy. The guy then said that he will check with his friend who is a lawyer to see what he can do.

From that time we tried lots of time to contact the Guy but no reply of him. So we dont know what has happened for the application!!!

After that, last dec, we called the Jordan embassy in washington, where they asked us to send an application, where the form is available on the website.

We did that and send all thru DHL, they said that we should obtain the certificate in 3 weeks.

After three weeks we are calling the embassy , they said that they have already submitted the application to jordan and they have not received any reply yet.

So we do not know if we have just to wait or we will keep waiting and we will not get any reply.

It is really frustrating all this as i was supposed to send all pending docs to the canadian visa office in nairobi since last november.

so thats our history for just a Good conduct certificate.

Hope we can get some help and confirm if we have done the right thing.

tks again
