I called USCIS. after seeing how so many other february filers got theirs approved and I had nothing, not even a receipt number for it, I called. Very frustrating!

Good luck with your interview!

I don't understand how they can lose files altogether... :(

Just a couple weeks now until your interview though!

I finally got my AP and EAD approved today.

I think I understand why the status goes back and forth a couple of times after Post-Decision. Once it goes in the Card Production stage, "Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant". So I imagine once it is mailed, it goes back to the Post-Decision stage.

AoS Process

AoS/EAD/AP file sent: 2011-02-16

Received: 2011-02-17

NOA: 2011-02-22

Touched: 2011-02-24

Hard copy NOAs received : 2011-02-28

Biometrics letter received: 2011-02-28

Biometrics appt: 2011-03-17

EAD & AP approved: 2011-04-28

AOS appt: 2011-05-12 (notice sent April 6) APPROVED :)

We spent the better part of the last few days assembling packets for the interview. We had employment verification letters and two months of pay stubs from each of my jobs. We had itineraries for every trip we've taken together since Viv arrived in the US, and even one we have booked for later this month. We had tax records, newspaper clippings, even a printout of the local Rotary club's home page showing Viv helping test the vision of schoolchildren. :)

We had our originals, we had a 2-hole-punched packet for the IO, and we had a 2-hole-punched packet for ourselves. We had a little photo album with almost 30 photos in it covering the period since Viv's arrival in the US last November - pictures of us, pictures of Viv taken by me at touristy spots, pictures of Viv with relatives of mine. We read over the "example questions" for AoS here on VJ and went down the list making sure we agreed on the answers. We had the I-693 in the sealed envelope from the local CS. We even read a thread about suggestions for AoS interviews and "dressed up" a little bit.

On the way to the airport - yes, really, we have to fly to our district office, there goes another $300! - I realized that there was one document from a few years back that I might not have an original certified copy of. We decided to just hope the IO didn't mind, and if they did give us an RFE, just send in the original then.

Our appointment was at 1:15pm. We got to the lobby at about 12:30 and were told we were too early and to come back in 20 minutes. Did so, got in, found a "take a number" thing. We got 24. 22 had already been seen. 23 was in the hands of another couple. We got called somewhere around 1:30-1:45. The IO started off by giving us a notice about the took an original certified copy of our marriage license, and the sealed I-693 envelope, and pretty much just asked questions to confirm info we'd provided with our filing. Questions were:

Where do you live? (to Viv)

Where were you born? (to each of us)

Do you have an email address? (to each of us)

When did you get married?

Where did you enter the US? (to Viv - the folks at JFK had apparently FAILED to stamp something! )

Where do you work? (to each of us)

Blah-blah-blah is your phone number, right? (to Viv)

Then she said we were done, and they just had to finish background checks, after which they'd email us the GC. No passport stamp, because Viv already has her EAD/AP combo card and we're not planning to travel too soon. And she said she liked the red heels Viv had on. :D She had no interest in seeing any of the other documents we had brought!

So... we were in and out in about 20 minutes, and it seems to have gone well. Now we're just waiting. :)
