Congrats everyone!! It's so nice to see that we're all getting approved relatively fast! Now just hope the Green Card gets approved soon. Though now that we have the EAD it takes a lot of the stress of waiting away since my husband can now work and get his state ID/driver's license.

Ahh so they WILL take the EAD for IA license?? Do you know anything else about what he'll need to take in there???

Congrats that is nice to get everything! We got greencard and welcome letter on the first of April....we got txt on the 5th that EAD card was ordered but up until now we still have not gotten the EAD

I just got my EAD!!! I am so happy!!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

I have a question guys. what documents are needed in applying for SSN? Do i just need to bring the EAD? Is there anything else? also, anybody from California? Do I need to wait for SSN to apply for driver's license?

Thanks so much for everyone. VJ has been such a great help. Now all I need to wait for is the interview date. and of course the greencard hopefully!!! Im hoping soon and no RFE's. :whistle:

According to their website, it's listed as an acceptable document, so I'm assuming it will work. I'm also having him bring his passport, a letter he received with our mailing address from February, and his SSN card.

HE FLIPPIN GOT HIS GREEN CARD! No interview! No RFE! and he used his shot papers from him physical over in the UK! No having to have em transcribed and such! I feel like a kid dancing around in circles and singing!

That sounds about the same for us. I just planned on using one of our bank statements, too, which I think is another document that could be used to prove it.

My husband got his drivers permit today. We took his SSN card, the EAD, the NOA1 from the I-485 to prove residence status. I think we brought his passport as well. He's still a bit nervous about driving so he just got the permit for now. He said the test was pretty easy. He only missed two questions.

Wish us luck, my husband is going to ask for his ssn today (since they said 2 business days) and we are going up to NYC this weekend to HOPEFULLY find an apartment :)
