Quick question to everybody, how did you apply to AOS ? everybody's based on a K-1?

Hi! We applied through the K-1. Does anyone know how long one should expect for the EAD and AOS approval after a case has been transferred to CSC? Or does the timeline still stay the same? Thanks!

Feb 2, 2011 - mailed application to Chicago Lockbox

Feb 4, 2011 - packet received

March 4, 2011 - Biometrics exam completed

March 7, 2011 - Received notice that application is being sent to California

Just got our appt. Notification via email!!!!

"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On March 30, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for May 5, 2011, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview.  In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current

processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Check Processing Times.

No that is not bad it just means you are going to have an interview....Ys my bio was on Feb 28th and my I485 was approved on Mar 28th I got email saying that they have registered this customer permanent residence status and should receive the card in 30days. We were lucky not to have an interview. Not sure of the questions that will be asked during the interview but I believe you guys should just have proof of the relationship like joint bank accounts, maybe add whomever was the beneficiary to the petitioners issurance and or the benficiary of any issurance policies..Or if you have bills in the beneficiaries name would also be sufficient enough.good Luck to you

After your interview comes to an end, and if they dont say "yes, you are approved" just ask, it wont hurt to inquire about it..... Thats what im going to to.

From reading people's posts about their interview some of them say they get approved on the spot and are told their GC will be mailed shortly, and some are told "no decision can be made at this time"

GOOD LUCK! I am happy for all of us, crossing my fingers for all of us!

Nice congrats!!!! Good Luck to you guys

Thanks - and it gets better! After the first text, which I've now found out was at 1:29am, they sent her another text at 5:13am, to let her know that her EAD had been approved, and then they sent her yet another text at 6:13am, to let her know that her AP had been approved too!

It's a good thing all this happened on March 31 and not a day later - we would have thought it was some kind of April Fool's joke. :P

So now she's expecting that stuff - hopefully the new combined card - sometime in April, and then the I-485 interview is May 3... this is all moving along much faster than the I-129F did last year!
