If you've recently graduated you may qualify for this type of visa (only available to Aussies and Kiwis): http://newzealand.usembassy.gov/swt_faq.html

I noticed that when I was researching info for my K1 visa.

However, I'd take a holiday here before committing to living here. NZ is the land of milk and honey as far as I'm concerned - hubby now only has to visit there for me to convince him to move back!

Ok if i can find an employer am i guaranteed to get a visa?

Of course nobody can guarantee you a visa. Whoever claims they can guarantee you a visa is a liar and a scammer. The H1 work visa is designated for specialty occupations/professions. This visa is difficult to get and requires a sponsoring employer. These visas are for specialized, high demand, and mostly college educated individuals (think of engineers, computer programmers, scientific researchers, etc.)Why would you want to come to the US to work? Have you visited? Why this particular country? Just curious...

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

Even if you get somebody willing to hire you, most probably they wont be able to. The employer has to go through a lot of certifications and paperwork (including their taxes looked up) and they have to prove there is no american willing or qualified enough to take the job before they are able to bring somebody here especially to work (H1B visa). For example they need to put ads on the paper and have proof of no americans replying to the ad, etc, in that case if you are highy skilled the could ask for you.

Also, I am not sure, but I think that visa is only for professionals like Engineers, Doctors, etc...

E3 visas are not specifically for Australians. They are available to people from any country. I'm not sure why Vanessa thought otherwise.

'cause of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-3_visa

The E-3 visa is a United States visa for which only citizens of Australia are eligible.[1] It was created by an Act of the United States Congress as a result of the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA), although it is not formally a part of the AUSFTA. The legislation creating the E-3 visa was signed into law by U.S. President George W. Bush on May 11, 2005.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for an E-3 visa, you must demonstrate that you:

* Are a national of Australia

* Have a legitimate offer of employment in the United States

* Possess the necessary academic or other qualifying credentials

* Will fill a position that qualifies as a specialty occupation

:D (I was looking at Temp, you were looking at immigration).

Simple straight forward answer just to get visa on your qualification of autofinisher - would be tough one to crack.

You have to be in speciality occupation(not by your defination) but by defination of USCIS and most speciality jobs are engineers, research scientist, programmer, IT jobs etc.

You are wrong. Vanessa was 100% correct. She is talking about E-3 temporary work visa for Australian citizens. You seem to be talking about EB3 category of application for permanent visa.

To the OP - it's realistically NOT going to happen. In order to get a visa based on work, you need to have education or experience that is not available in the local area. eg. certain professors, healthcare workers, computer engineers, business people etc. You can take a nice <90 day holiday to the US however, or perhaps try Australia to work if you're from NZ.

5/2/14 - Marriage to USC (Australian citizen on E-3 visa)

6/20/14 (Day 0): AOS package received at Chicago Lockbox
6/24/14 (Day 4): Text notification of receipt (I-130, I-131 and I-765 "Initial Review", I-485 "Accepted")
6/30/14 (Day 10): Received NOAs and biometrics notice for 7/24
7/7/14 (Day 17): Walk-in biometrics at Pittsburgh ASC
7/30/14 (Day 40): Email update: I-485 has moved to "Testing and Interview" stage

8/20/13 (Day 61): Text notification: I-131 and I-765 approved, "Card Production" status

8/28/14 (Day 69): Text notification: EAD/AP card mailed

8/29/14 (Day 70): EAD/AP card received

9/10/14 (Day 82): Text msg of case update - interview date notice mailed

10/16/14 (Day 118): Interview - approved. Text update of "card production" status
10/20/14 (Day 122): Received welcome letter

10/23/14 (Day 125): Received green card

You are replying to a 6 year old thread. The Op hasn't been on in 6 years and the member you are quoting hasn't logged on in almost a year. Please pay attention to the dates of threads before replying.
