Yes, a gun is an inanimate object and therefore incapable of rendering violence without being operated by a human being (or a really intelligent orangutan). This is true.

Slim, you don't seem to quite grasp how a society functions, or a government operates. Your rights are not absolute, nor are they infallible. If you prove to be a dangerous member of society, then you will be stripped of some of your rights that effect the rest of society, or they will simply cull the herd. Slim, you are certainly consistent! But most of us as we go down the road of life find that sometimes the road bends and we need to bend with it. Staying straight on course may just plunge you into a ravine! You have stretched your arguments well beyond their ability to continue making sense to rational minds. Few truths remain true when taken to extremes! You embarrass and discredit those who take more moderate positions with a similar point of view.
