oh well I have a question... do i need to get my police clearance certificate translated in english.im gonna get it in arabic... but an operator at nvc told me i dont need to get it translated just send it as is.. do i just send it or am i taking some risk of more delay(what if they aactually need a translated copy?)

According to NVC's website (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html):

Translation Requirements

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

So, if Arabic is the official language of Saudi Arabia, you don't need to translate them. If it was me though and I had any documents not in English, I'd get them translated, just in case, but again, that's just me.

WoW whats going on with the NVC phone operators? I wouldn;t listen to them. First they told me they never recieve my IV package and make me worry and scan Post Office reciepts and papers and email it to them when the whole time they had the IV package and it was being processed. Then they told me after my case complete that the interview was scheduled 2nd week of every month, I had CC in Feb so they told me I would get interview scheduled 2nd week of March. Well interview was scheduled in end of Feb. I think everyone there has their head up their you know what. If I was you I would get the document translated and then send it. I am willing to bet my house that if you send it in Arabic that they will RFE you and ask for the English translation.

They make it confusing. I'm pretty sure what they mean is if you actually are applying for the visa like at the Embassy in Saudi then you dont need to have it translated. BUT since they applied here in the States via USCIS and NVC then they need translation. Some cases are allowed to be filed directly at the Embassy like if the Spouse lives there or works there etc. Then the I-130 and IV pack can be filed right at the Embassy, then you dont need translations. This is what I always thought it meant and in the past heard people say.

Yeah, it might mean only those doing DCF, but either way I'd still translate documents if I had any that weren't in English, just in case.

You should probably post this question in the Philippines regional forum as this is a country-specific question.

5 business days Rie, takes 5 days. 2GO dont have tracking on their website. Air21 used to do the delivery there but now they use this cheaper delivery company called 2GO. And I read that 2GO no deliver on sat or sunday. I think Embassy in Manila cut and print the visas on thursday and fridays , in the mail by friday afternoon. So maybe we get them on tuesday this week?
