Case Complete at NVC

I want to say thank you to everyone on this forum! Truly an amazing site. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have any support in this whole process and I would have been ABSOLUTELY clueless on what steps to take. My marriage certificate was accepted (ha I knew I was right!) and if it wasn't for VJ I wouldn't have had the idea to send repeated emails, email the embassy, call everyday etc. until my case was complete. I am truly blessed to have you all and this website for support. Thank you again!!!!!!!!!!

Also I called this morning and the man literally read what was on the screen "unfortunately ma'am the cases for april are filled, you can call back the 3rd week of april as appts are scheduled the 2nd week......." Anyway I need a break from them and I am truly just so thankful again!

Hey guys,

Great GREAT news! I just received the NVC email this morning (East Coast) and what a morning! My mom got her interview date! May 3 @ 9:30 AM!

So it is not true that interviews are scheduled only during the 2nd week of each month. They do schedule interviews depending on the availability of slots (duh!)

But I need an advise though: she did an advanced medical and finished hers on November 4, 2010. So on her interview date, her medical is valid just for 2 days! I'm planning to call the US Embassy Manila and also St. Luke's. Any advise/experience? IMHO - I'll just have her do the medical in advance of the interview again - like next week - to ensure that there is no medical issue. Any thoughts?

Thanks and good luck to all,

Fred

Yeah, it would probably be a good idea to re-do the medical since that's a really tight expiry date. Wait to see what the US Embassy says though and make sure they allow it. I don't see why they wouldn't, but just in case, you never know with government. I've never read here about someone taking a second medical, but I don't see the problem.

Oh, they are very strict about dates. It will expire on May 4 and she should be able to fly on or before that date, that was what I was told. There was this girl who got cleared Jan 24 this year and her medical will expire Jan 29 but she can't fly in few days since the she had no idea her papers will be done by Jan 24 (name change issue) so she had to do her medical again :(

Yeah my sister (the petitioner) and I decided for her to re-take the medical next week - a month ahead of the interview - just in case something comes up, although she passed the first one already so this should not be a big deal - but you never know. Also, I know that the medical clearance along with the other documents will also be checked at the POE so its better safe than sorry.

Let her bring the result last time also. That might help but they usually don't consider it. :| Just like my friend's situation.
