Well, I am definitely feeling discouraged and frustrated...

I called an operator last night because it's been over 20 business days since we sent our paperwork in and there has been no update. She told me that it still doesn't show that they have received any of our stuff! REALLY?!?! We've already had to resend it twice, and they still can't find it??? She said she would put in a request for them to review our case, but that we should re-submit our documents again. The NVC now has 4 copies of our documents. 4! Each time we have submitted we have received confirmation that they got it. We are doing electronic processing, which I thought was supposed to be faster, but it seems to have caused us more problems....

I'm discouraged. People who began their NVC journey after us are seeing CC and SIF.

I just don't know what to do anymore....

Wow, that's insane. Next time you call, get a supervisor and explain the situation. You shouldn't have needed to send your documents 4 times...

Now, we received an email asking for the IV package and we sent it two weeks ago. Matt called the NVC and was told to ignore the email if we sent it already. I understand that someone got the same issue about this right?

Yeah, that's the fake RFE that a lot of people get.

We got a call from the congress office, they are still helping us in NVC after USCIS. It was them who offered it so they call Matt every Wednesday for an update. And they always call the congressional hotline of NVC so even if the operator or system has no idea about it, they know first. So, Matt received a call from them today, he was told that in IV packet, there were missing papers. I don't know how that happen, there were just 11 sheets (including the photocopies) and they will say that some are missing? Our AOS has 93 pages but there no complaints about it.

I think I've read somewhere here that the NVC gives false RFE sometimes on the IV packet? Can someone please confirm it?

Thank you!

woah.. thats a lot of pages.

By AOS you mean Affidavit of Support I am guessing.. that has to be some sort of a record.

Yea that is! We were afraid some papers might be missing because of the bulk. But thank God, they finished reviewing them and we got no RFE.

I'm having same issues. They keep saying we're not opted in. Finally I emailed the nvc and got a response, but im not sure if its the optin acceptance or not. Anyhow, there are others in your boat, this electronic processing has serious flaws. I dont know why they dont just add a checkbox to one of the websites we can login to. They can automate sending in an entire form, but a simple yes/no for electronic processing? rediculous.

We got lucky, the timing was optimum since they only schedule on the second week and that's when we were approved. Thank you all for your well wishes, there is NO WAY we could have gotten this far without VJ and all the great people before us and here now. It's taken much of the stress out of it. All we need is a healthy dose of patience to make it through. Thanks again people!! and best of luck to you and yours!! The wife's going to get her medical exam on Monday/Tuesday so wish us (her mostly!) luck.

Hi guys,

Good news! My mom's IR5 application just reached the "case closed" status on 3/11/11! And sign-in to the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center failed! I hope she gets interviewed by mid-April.

Question: She had an advanced medical exam on Nov 4, 2010. Is this medical exam required to be valid at port of entry? Or just during the Interview? Also, if USEM does not give her a visa right away due to the "No criminal record" remark on the NBI clearance, will the medical exam needs be valid when the visa is finally issued? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Fred

11/04/10 - Sent AOS packet via FedEx

11/30/10 - DS-230 Checklist email received

02/24/69 - Sent DS-230 via FedEx (took time to get NBI clearance. TIP: Get an NBI Clearance as soon as an application for a

US immigrant visa of any type is contemplated, especially if you have entered into any written contract involving

a sum of money or promise to render any service any time even if that was 20 years ago, as the Philippine police

and judicial system is very deficient and in some cases corrupt. (And I'm not bad-mouthing my country of birth;

I would live there again if I have enough money to put up a business or land a good-paying job there.) It only

costs P165 a copy. To prove my point, my mom had a long-dismissed case way back in 1999 from a lending

company. Turned out the dismissed case had a typographical error and it needed a court hearing and a month

for it to be corrected. To make matters worse, same plaintiff made a similar complaint in the same court for the

same reason on the same account that my mom had with them which was the basis of the first case, just at

the adjacent branch (so same location and building, just different room and judge) - this case had a standing

warrant of arrest for her for 10 YEARS that was never served - it took us three months to have it dismissed thru

an expedited process and she got cleared. What a waste of time. So get an NBI clearance as early as possible.

02/25/69 - DS-230 received by NVC

03/11/11 - Case Complete

03/12/11 - Sign-In Failed (may have been this way between 3/7 and 3/11)

Grats on your case complete!

I don't know anything about the validity of medicals, sorry.

Also, in your timeline, I bolded the above. You're completely wrong. My husband, the petitioner, has never called NVC. I, the beneficiary, was the only one that called an operator all the time and I was able to do everything. You do NOT have to be the petitioner to talk with an operator and get/give information.
