They advise that of applicants but when it is all said and completed it's not that important. i didnt even attempt to go thru writing case numbers on on any ofthe papers or worst I did not follow the photo copy requirements. Had no issues with the two cases that went thru the NVC stage.

If so requested it can be done.. but wont kill the case.

Oh ya, it's definitely not required and NVC won't work on the case if there's no case numbers at the top right. It's just merely a suggestion by NVC and members here.

Remember though you said it's not required but you mention that they won't work on the case if there no case numbers at the top right. If they said they then that's not true at all. USCIS/NVV will ... they will work on the case even if the case number is not notes, copied, printed etc on the "top-right" hand corner. That's a myth. IF that's true then they have just increased their work loads by 3x as many people don't follow the photo copy requirement and even worst .. the notation of the case number at the top-right-hand corner.

I'm sure you know that as well.

Oh #######, I didn't mean that. I left a word out. I meant to say that: NVC won't not work on your case if there's no case number. Wow, missing an important word there. Sorry headbonk.gif

I wrote the case number on ALL pages of my AOS package (minus the coversheet and cover letter) and ALL pages on my IV package (minus the coversheet and cover letter).

NVC suggests doing this so in case, for whatever reason, they lose a paper and someone finds it, if there's a case number on it, they'll know exactly what case it belongs to and can return it. It's not mandatory, but I would highly suggest it.

I'll quote an email I got from NVC concerning the DS-230, but it applies to both packages:

To avoid processing delays when returning documents to the National Visa Center:

Write the applicant's case number in the subject line of the e-mail when applicable, AND in the

upper right-hand corner of each page of every document.

• DO NOT send documents for ANY OTHER CASES attached to an e-mail.

• DO NOT send information for ANY OTHER CASES in the same envelope unless the NVC's

letter is attached to the front of each case's documents

Good point Saylin, It wont hurt to put it on all the pages. I know they request that when you get an RFE or other request from them, just make sure you write it neatly on top right corner.

Not that I'm complaining, but it's almost too fast! I got so used to waiting on USCIS.........but, luckily, the wait gave me time to get the NVC documents together. Just hope that in my haste to get the AOS in the mail, I didn't forget something.

Oh okay, then I will tell Matt to put the NVC Case Number on each paper and there are 92 pages!!! Whoah! Wait, including the pages of I-864? Maybe his mom can help. lol So, again, the NVC case number at the upper right-hand corner of each page?

By the way, when paying online and asked about the routing number and I checked Matt's account, it shows two different numbers, either paper & electronic or wires, and I chose the paper & electronic routing number. Will it take longer? Cause I understand that wire transfer can cost extra charges? Idk. lol

Btw, who else here is using the I-864 form? In page 1, does it show the barcode at the bottom or not? Saylin and I discussed about it earlier today and it's just weird because sometimes the barcode on page 1 appears and sometimes it disappears when saving/printing. So I'd like to know what did you submit in page 1, with barcode or without?

Thank you!

For our AOS, we put the case number on ALL pages, including the I-864EZ form. We just didn't put our number on the coversheet with barcode and our cover letter. And yes, top right hand corner.

I have no idea about the routing number since my husband was the one that paid. It did appear as PAID one day later though. Real fast.

That barcode at the bottom of the I-864 depends on what OS you are using. On Windows, it appears, but for whatever reason, the PDF reader on a Mac (and Linux as my husband noticed as well) did not render the barcode for whatever reason.

umm.. i had a question. do i get any packet in mail after getting my nvc case number (i am the beneficiary)??. thanks in advance!

I'm the beneficiary as well, and both my husband and I got the first information package (with our case number, IIN, etc) in our emails as well as getting the DS-230 information package. So if your email was provided, then yes, you will get packages as well as the petitioner.

Thanks Saylin! Matt's mom will do it. lol And about the barcode thing on page one, Matt just printed the one with the barcode and that is what he is going to send. Whew!

By the way, what's CMR? It is just in the address. Attn:CMR Matt asked it and I don't know the answer. lol

I think it is just interoffice routing for NVC. The AOS has CMR AOS, and the IV just has CMR.

I have been reading a lot of posts that ask "Do I have to wait for packet from NVC?", OR "Do I wait for email from NVC?", etc........After waiting at TSC, I am not waiting on anything!!. I submitted my wife's DS-3032 using the email template after obtaining the NVC case nr. from the phone robot. She did get an email confirmation on that one. When the AOS and the IV were invoiced, I paid online. When the AOS was marked paid, I printed out the bar-coded cover Document Cover Sheet, put the package together, and mailed it (today). The IV is now marked PAID, so I will get that ready, and mail it out on Tuesday. If Monday wasn't a holiday, I would mail it out on Monday. Trying to PRO-ACTIVE rather than waiting. I think most of you are like me; TIRED OF WAITING!!
