That is the instructions for DCF in Turkey and this wonderful Man is already my Hubby, we were married in the states... In Las Vegas over 3 years ago. I am not sure what the "rules" are for Fiances.... does it say on the website that lists all instructions for K-1? I was reading it yesterday and is similar to the instructions for DCF..... If you don't have that let me know and I can try and find it again if you don't already have that in your "box" of Immigration files/links.....:) OR you can e-mail the embassy and get their "OK" and you will be fine. How are things going in your "journey" and did you enjoy your trip and your sweetheart?(L)(L)(L) Where does he live?

Hi there,

THanks so much for the information. I did have the information from the consulate's website about the interview but then I thought maybe something had changed when I read your post but all is good I think. Things are going well in the journey, getting package 2 completed OMG what a pain in the drain. Trying to get the letters from my employeer is like pulling teeth. Oh well. All will work out eventually. Yes very much enjoyed the trip I was not ready to come home but then again none of us are ever ready to come home. I loved being with him again and just being able to spend time with him and do things together with him. I was very thankful I was able to go again. He lives in Gaziantep. How are you all doing? I hope everything is going well for you!

I was going to Turkey for my husbands interwiev sometime in March (at least we were hoping)but Texas Service Center taking sooooo long, both my husband and I running out of patience and since we don't know at this point when they will approve us so I am going to Turkey end of March.10 more days it will be 6 months since NOA1.I guess,he will have to come by himself when he gets his visa.Miss my hubby very much,it has been 8 months since I last seen him.

Hey there,

Wow how exciting I am so happy for you that you are going back there in March, that is awesome. Are you super excited. You have to let me know how everything goes once you come back. Oh you will have the best time especially since you have been waiting so very long! Yeah trying to figure all this stuff out and make plans without knowing dates for anything is really difficult but in all honesty, we will get it all worked out in time. All I care about is that eventually (hopefully sooner as opposed to later) I have him here with me. This is just killing us living like this. I hope 10 years from now we can all look back on this, look at what we've all been through and just even moreso appreciate the fact that we are together.

Take care and keep me posted on your travel plans!

Last year I was in the same exact dilemma. I thought that since Efe and I had been through the entire grueling process, waiting for the interview for almost a year, then at the least we should be together to support each other for the 'final step'- aka the interview. I didn't end up going to the interview and here is why:

In our personal situation it just didn't end up being necessary. It would have been GREAT to have had 2 weeks off from work and take a vacation to Turkey and be with Efe for the interview, but it just wasn't realistic/necessary. It was a better use of my vacation days to take time off when he came here so that he could get settled in, visit family, friends etc. Looking back it was also nice to save the plane ticket $$ for AOS. Efe was really confident that he could rock the interview on his own, he told me that he didn't need me there. Also, after the interview he told me that he was sure that the interviewer had already made up his mind about the visa before the interview itself began. So in our own personal circumstance me being there wouldn't have made a difference. Also, not being able to set firm travel plans to fly back together was another negative. There is always a chance that the interview result could be AP too. So for us it just wasn't worth it but I'm sure that you can find people on here who had very different experiences. I think that you have to go with what feels right!!

11/29/2010 Sent AOS package
12/10/2010 NOA1
01/07/2011 AOS transfer to CSC
01/11/2011 Biometrics
2/08/2011 AOS approved
2/22/2011 Green card in hand!

I completely agree with you. That is my biggest concern is that he goes to the interview and we get an RFE or something and then we are going back again etc. etc. etc. Just trying to get this all sorted out is so hard. I really want to be able to support him as much as possible, but then one must be a realist (okay not my strong suit) and then also consider all of the factors that could throw a monkey wrench into the plans. Thanks so much for telling me your story. I appreciate you taking the time. It is so helpful to hear what people did so that I can look at the different situations and assess which is going to be the best option for us.

Hi All,

I was just curious to see how some of your are handling the issues around the interview and then if the Visa is approved, then bringing your significant other back here.

Are any of you planning on going to the interview eventhough you will not be allowed inside? How are you making your travel plans as it is risky to make travel plans to bring your significant other back here until he/she has Visa in hand? Are you going to Turkey to travel with your significant other back to the states or is he/she going to make the trip alone?

Sorry for all the questions I am just curious. Just trying to start planning and thinking ahead and suggestions/ideas from other members could be helpful. I am trying to determine the most cost effecitve way to do things but in all honesty if I am physically and financially able to I would love to travel with my fiance from Turkey back to the states once his visa is approved. Just wondering what everyone else is doing if I am not prying too much!

Thanks everyone. Hope you all are doing well and I hope you VJ is going smoothly ( okay, as smoothly as it can be...right? )

Hi, to answer your questions

1) they don't allow you inside. I went for my husband interview. I had to wait outside 4 hours ( it was very cold)

2) Don't make any plans because they can put him in Mandatory Administrative Review.
