got the e-mail!!!! "On August 10, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you".

I received a letter and email. Ours was approved on 7/28/11. We should receive the card within 30 days. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

From what I understand (I've never gotten an RFE), and someone please correct me if I am wrong, you don't have to use the envelope they provide. You can use a larger full size envelope that will fit m

We're on a roll now! Everyone from FEB should be done very soon. This is so cool.

Hi everybody,

I had a quick question. I was away on vacations for 12 days and so my postal carrier was dropping off the mail in my mail box but when she saw no one was taking the mail for 10 days, she thought I had moved and returned the mail I got in those 10 days as undeliverable and return to sender. I fixed the problem when I came back and now I am getting all my mails. My question is should I contact USCIS to see if they mailed me anything in those 10 days of mail worth. I checked my online status and it still says initial review and also I recieved no email so far for any RFE. Kindly advise me, is it wise to call USCIS and confirm with them if they sent me any mail for that time period i.e July 28-Aug 6 2011. Thanks for your kind replies.

I doubt the misinfo line would be able to tell you with any certainty one way or the other. Level 2 might be able to tell you, if you're willing to go to that length. Personally, I'd be livid with USPS that they made such an assumption and started rejecting mail.

How do i get to a level 2 officer. I spoke to the postmaster and she said according to the law if mail is unclaimed for more than 10 days they have the right to send it back to sender as unclaimed. Anyways, do you guys recommend I call them up, and how do i get to a level 2 officer? Thanks

Once you get them on the phone, ask for your call to be escalated. They might not do it the first time you ask but if you're firm with them that you want to be escalated, they have to do it, I believe. Either that or ask them your question in a complex way that they won't be able to answer, then they'll have no choice :lol: Expect a long hold time for the 2nd level officer, though. Especially just after a weekend.

*makes a note to tell the mail lady if we ever go on vacation for more than 10 days :P

Well usually you can place your mail on hold. The post office will hold your mail until you get back. But not for an over extended period of time tho, maybe like 30 day or ma lil more

We received our approval letter yesterday and the card arrived today! I hope the rest of the February filers receive good news very soon!

5-13-09: Green card approved.

6-24-09: Received green card.

8-13-11: Received 10-year green card.

2-21-12: Sent N-400 to Dallas Lock box.

7-18-12: Naturalization interview (passed!).
