OMG, I literally just received the following email from USCIS!:

That's great news, congratulations

It's also good news for the rest of us, I think because it implies they're on the same kind of timeframe they've been on for the past 6 months or so (good news in that they're not getting worse :lol: ). Looking back over the previous monthly filers threads, VSC have been starting to slowly approve a few cases at about the three month mark which is where we are now so hopefully we can expect a couple more in the next few weeks, with the trickle gradually becoming a flood over the next 6 weeks or so. :dance:

I can't see what my husband and I did differently with our application. We submitted one lease document (the most recent doc showing the renewed lease from Nov. 2010). Unfortunately we didn't keep a copy from the previous 2 leases. So I was worried about that. We also submitted our taxes from 2008-2010, insurance docs, bank statements (a couple mths from late 2010 to Jan 2011) and about 7 pics. We had more evidence to send but my husband said we could take it to the interview (he was sure we'd get an interview date!)

The only thing I can think of that's different with my application is that my husband is a soldier in the US army. We sent a copy of his orders and I wrote "military spouse" on the face of our application. We filed to VSC because I'm still living in the US. On 5/31 he's coming home after an 18 month tour in South Korea. Maybe that sped up our application... Other than that, we didn't do anything differently.

OMG, I literally just received the following email from USCIS!:

On May 19, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

I actually had to read it a couple times to be sure! Wow, I still think I'm seeing doubles.

I guess this will give the rest of VSC applicants some hope that things are speeding up at that center!

I'm just curious how many people got updates on their emails or phones before getting the actual card? Should I trust the status on uscis.gov. I check that 10 times a day. :-)

I'm a december filer but I got a few updates from email, 2 for card production. One saying an approval was mailed on the 13th, but we already got the approval dated May 7th in the mail on the 13th. Confusing but their online might not be reliable with dates?

No card yet.

If you actually get a notification from them, then yes, you can trust it but you shouldn't assume that the *lack* of a notification means no progress has been made because Case Status Online is extremely unreliable.

The first thing I knew about my AOS approval was when my GC turned up in the mail :lol: , no email or even a touch, and that's very common. We had been wringing our hands with worry because we'd sent back an RFE and the case status wasn't reflecting it. Likewise my EAD application status got 'stuck' on the initial processing stage. Then, suddenly, a couple of months later, I got two emails telling me that my EAD and AOS were approved. By that time, the EAD was actually null and void because the GC had been issued :rolleyes:

Some people simply get told that their case number is invalid and can never check their status.

So no, it's not particularly trustworthy...
