Another question - those of you who have biometrics appts, did you do biometrics for AOS too? It seems odd that one would have to do it again....

From what I understand (I've never gotten an RFE), and someone please correct me if I am wrong, you don't have to use the envelope they provide. You can use a larger full size envelope that will fit m

VSC and I too am starting to worry since I'm filing so close to the later part of my 90 daysm and it's been almost a week they received it and still no check cashed... But Im sure it'll all be alright and will probably be hearing from them soon enough...

Your GC expiry date is one day before mine & we're at the same service centre. You should be OK - they cashed my check after 10 days so if they're working to the same timeframe for everybody, they should cash yours soon :)

Your GC expiry date is one day before mine & we're at the same service centre. You should be OK - they cashed my check after 10 days so if they're working to the same timeframe for everybody, they should cash yours soon :)

I always assumed that was to make sure that 'you' are still 'you' - an anti-fraud measure to check the fingerprints match up at the embassy, POE, AOS and ROC stages?

I think it is because biometrics expires after a year or so, therefore you need to submit fresh one for background checks... Also as already said to be sure you are you and you never know the FBI updates their database very often so new set help recheck for anything and everything lol

Well glad to notify you guys that the VSC did cash our check so it is either a good news meanning our application is accepted as complete... Or worse we are being denied and USCIS is still running away with our "easy" earned money loool, let u know what type of NOA.

11/13/2008: Biometrics Appointment letter.

12/14/2008: Sent response to RFE.

01/07/2009: Response for I-765: Current Status: Card production ordered.

01/17/2009: Received EAD in the mail

01/26/2009: Interview Notice.03/16/2009... It's a Date!!!

Am I correct in thinking that you cannot check for online updates until you get the NOA with your case #?

I read somewhere on here that the receipt number on an ROC NOA is no good for case status online :rolleyes: and you have to wait and use the one from the bio notice... (here's one - post #2)

Speaking of CRIS, I just logged back into my account there for the first time since AOS and it seems both my I-485 and my I-765 were touched last summer... :unsure:

Don't remember when we (Canadian husband and I) filed exactly, but it was on or about the 2nd week of February. Received I-751 on 2/18, VSC.

I'll read on but I'm wondering when folks are getting (if they're getting) biometric appointments. He's already had his fingerprints scanned once, coming back into the US from Mexico (the officer commented that this was the first time he'd had it done).

Sent I-130 to VT 25-Oct-2007

yaaaay!! We got our NOA today from VSC!!!! The receipt date is 2/22, exactly the day it arrived via overnight mail in Vermont....WHY did it take them so long to send us this notice?? lol All I know is I'm very happy...and we're running to the DMV too, it's been SO inconvenient since my husband wasn't able to drive! Can't wait for the biometrics notice now!

I logged in to our account a couple weeks ago too out of curiosity and I noticed as well that the I-485 and I-765 were touched last summer! Wonder what that was all about??

yaaaay!! We got our NOA today from VSC!!!! The receipt date is 2/22, exactly the day it arrived via overnight mail in Vermont....WHY did it take them so long to send us this notice?? lol All I know is I'm very happy...and we're running to the DMV too, it's been SO inconvenient since my husband wasn't able to drive! Can't wait for the biometrics notice now!

Phew :) I had a easy experience at the DMV (in and out in less than 20 minutes :wow:). The woman didn't understand why I gave her the extension letter and didn't look at it. I guess she just ran me through SAVE to get the new expiry date...

I logged in to our account a couple weeks ago too out of curiosity and I noticed as well that the I-485 and I-765 were touched last summer! Wonder what that was all about??

I wonder if they just archived the files and they were touched because they were logged into storage? Probably something uninteresting like that :lol:

I read somewhere on here that the receipt number on an ROC NOA is no good for case status online :rolleyes: and you have to wait and use the one from the bio notice... (here's one - post #2)

Speaking of CRIS, I just logged back into my account there for the first time since AOS and it seems both my I-485 and my I-765 were touched last summer... :unsure:

That is funny you mentioned that because out of the blue this summer I received an E-Mail from CRIS and I was worried something was wrong... But it was just my I-485 approval notice lool. I guess they had just updated it on their online system... Weird....

My timeline ...

AOS 2008

10/27/2008: Sent I-130,-485 and -765.

10/29/2008: USPS delivery confirmation.

11/04/2008: Notice Date.

11/06/2008: NOA for I-130,-485 and -765.

11/13/2008: Biometrics Appointment letter.

11/14/2008:cases online. I-130 and -765.

11/18/2008: I-485 case is online.

11/20/2008: Received RFE.

11/29/2008: Biometric Done.

12/14/2008: Sent response to RFE.
