All well and good but yet many Chinese Citizens hold US and Chinese passports, using the Chinese passport to enter China and the US Passport to enter the USA. My wife has had extended time in the USA with nothing but a long expired US visa in her Chinese passport and there will likely NEVER be another US visa in her passport or anything else in her Chinese passport to show she's authorized to enter the USA or remain for a long period of time. What she uses to enter in the USA and show that authorization is a Green Card and it is NOT in her Chinese passport.

I'm pointing out there's a vast difference between what some countries technically publish that the "allow" and what their citizens routinely do anyway.

Oh yes I know some Chinese people do it (I mentioned it a few posts ago) but it's also illegal so I made sure the OP was aware the option to do it was there, but in my opinion the risks are too great and if the same issue was there for my home country I wouldn't risk it, I prefer easy access to my home country.

I get it but Australia isn't China. As you recall, my correction was to the phrase "can't apply". "Can't apply" is simply not true. Any US Citizen has easy access to Australia without a visa but to enter China requires a new visa every year costing currently $158. Mine is good for two years because I'm married to a Chinese Citizen but in the scenario we're talking about, that wouldn't apply.

We're getting far afield though. The OP's question has been answered adequately, in that nothing prevents her from traveling back to China or moving back to China, EVEN if she were to obtain US Citizenship. It's only a matter of paperwork and fees or not.

Maybe she should ask the Immigration officer at her VISA appointment this question.

I like this response, actually - it's put me in a great mood and I wish to write some more, aye?

This is a great question to ask of any VO -

forget about the attorney that her fiance' hired -

forget about any info on USCIS website

forget about VJ, forget about CFV or CFL -

and ask the human behind the counter, on interview day, instead.

Best Answer Yet !!! Made me smile a lot !!!!

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
