Thanks :) I am so clueless about this process. For some reason I thought the visa would be processed the next day which might mean I most likely would be in Montreal still. but thanks for clearing it up!!!

Yrs ago one could pick it up the same day in mtl--then changed to next day, then changed to mailing it out via expresspost and NOW DHL is in the ball game!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

What are the fees?

I visited this site that the letter instructed me to:

https://www.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_before_you_apply

and it says I need to pay a fee. What is this fee for? I have already processed my DS-160. Is this fee the interview fee? I'm just worried that if I pay it it will not be refunded if i made a mistake.

Its a VISA FEE, not an interview fee. You have to pay for the visa even if you don't get the visa. Its 350$ I believe since the fee updates.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

USD$350 for Fiancé(e) (K) visas used to be paid at the time of the interview (in case). However, it is now paid when you schedule your interview. And depending where you will get your medical examination completed. There is also a fee for it.

Ok so after the petition costs, I would have to pay for the visa, interview, and medical? My boyfriend did get a lawyer to help him with the filing for the petition, wouldn't the cost of the visa have been paid then? I guess I need to ask the lawyer that...

On the checklist I have, it says 350 at the time of the interview. Should I be expecting to pay this 350 now, 300 for the medical, and another 350 at the interview?

The 350$ is payed before the interview online via credit card.

The medical yes when i went to my medical in montreal at medisys (2009) it cost 210$.

you pay 1 fee of 350$ before interview. On that website before booking the appointment. After you book it you CAN change the date if you need to.

Medical fee is payed once AT the medical. You need 3 passport photos for the medical as well.
