Received Interview Date!

Well I was really hating the fact that once your petition hits the embassy there is no real way to check on the status of things. My fiancee sent off DS-230 and DS-2001 on the 17th of August, the day after DHL said they delivered a package to Bogota. She forgot to send OF-169, which is the older version of the DS-2001 that Bogota supposedly still uses. When she sent these forms to Bogota I had her fax them and mail them via a secure mail carrier. Not sure what that carrier name was, but I don't think it was Adpostal, which is the Colombian (National) mail courier.

After that was done we waited a week with no Packet 3 or 4 and no changes in the Interview Dates on the Embassy website. Finally this morning I checked the site again and it had the September interview dates... SWEET! September 21st BABY! 3 and a half weeks and we will be at the interview in Bogota!

I plan to be there for the interview and then to accompany her back to Barranquilla to see hre familyone last time and then buy some tickets to get her to the states (IF all goes well with the VISA interview, which I have no worries about).

Couldn't have gotten this far without all the help and information on this site...thanks and kudos to everyone for posting messages and experiences.

Super fast! Some consulates are quicker than others, I hear Guangzhou where my fiance is to do interview takes months to schedule interviews.

Good luck! and Congratulations!
