K-3 visa application rejected?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the website, but I've been lurking for a few weeks reading your insightful comments. I have a question regarding the K-3 visa. I read that it will be administratively closed by NVC, but my question is involving whether a rejected K-3 application will effect our pending I-130. We sent a k-3 application in a few weeks ago and just received a notice that our application was being rejected because we didn't provide the correct fees. As I understood the form's directions, there are no fees when filing the 129F for a K-3 Visa (right?). All I'm worried about is if the rejection of Form 129F for the K-3 visa will effect our status/priority date for the I-130. Any advice is appreciated.

Did you include the NOA from the I-130 or just the I-129F? If you did not include the NOA and just the I129F they probably figured you were applying for a K-1.

Rejection wont do anything to the I-130. Stick with the I-130 it costs less than K-3 and you get your green card a few weeks after entering on the CR-1 visa.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

We sent in a copy of the marriage certificate and the NOA 1 from the I-130, so I was surprised that the application was rejected. I am relieved to hear that it's not going to effect my pending I-130. I wonder if I should contact the Texas Lockbox that sent me the rejection letter?

There is no such thing as a K3 application. I take it you filed an I-129F petition for spouse. If correctly filed it shouldn't have been rejected but you can count it as a blessing that it was. If accepted, the I-129F petition would have caused your I-130 to lose it's place in line to move back in line with the I-129F.

Thanks I'm going to count it as a blessing after reading more threads on the K-3 visa forum. Thing is though, it was filed correctly, but as my mother always says 'blessings come in disguises'. My only question now is do I need to contact the number listed on the rejection notice to let them know we won't be pursuing the k-3 after all.
