'Touch' - when your petition (file) is either moved in another box, to another desk, or looked at, they have to scan it in the uscis system as an update. you can create an account on the uscis website and add your case to your portfolio - using the case number from your noa1. and then you check what's the date of the last update. that's a touch. some people don't get any, some people get a lot of those :) lemme know if what i wrote makes sense - i just woke up and my brain is still half asleep :D

LOL...;)

If you sign up on the USCIS website (www.uscis.gov) with your receipt number you can check your status. Once you get a login name and password you can check your account and it will tell you the last date there was an update or a "touch"....

I had to ask how to find the right links even after creating an account. After you have an account set up with your receipt number, go to uscis.gov, click on "check case status", then click on "sign-in to my account". You'll see a table with a date when your case was last updated. We've never had a touch. Ours still says our NOA1 date, even though it's been 4.5 months, and I've even requested a change of address for the beneficiary 2 months ago.
