I seem to remember that when I was purchasing my fiances ticket 5 years ago on Northwest, now Delta that when I was on the web site to purchase her one way ticket from the Philippines to the US that there was something about showing the credit card because the flight originated overseas. I just sent her money and had her buy the ticket in the Philippines to avoid any hassles.

I hope no one ever goes thru what we did today. My post above could have been alot longer and detailed. Don't think for a minute that the Delta supervisor just refunded me 100% of my ticket cost without a fight. Of course she said that she cannot waive the $100 refund fee or waive the ticket rescheduling fee blah, blah, blah. I heard that for 10 minutes before she did agree. I think that when I asked her if the last time that she purchased an item online if she had to go to the company headquarters with ID and credit card. She was quiet after that one.Lol.

Read the fine print very clearly and know what you are agreeing too. I could have easily been out $900.00 for a ticket and Sheena stuck in the Philippines while I scrape together money for another ticket. I spent about 30 hours over several days to get that flight schedule at a decent price. Knowing that I had to go searching again was a dreadful task that I wasn't looking forward to.

Ok..... 41 more hours to go!!!

Can you do a charge back on your credit card and get all of the money plus the 100$? Considering they did not tell you up front about these rules when you bought it , I would say what they are doing is in fact fraudulent

What a terrible day. Sheena had a 815am flight on Delta coming to the states finally. She says goodbye to her family, gives her cel phone to her dad and stands in line to check in at Manila. She has been up since 3am and at the airport by 6am.

At the ticket counter she hands her passport and flight info to the agent. The agents wants to see the credit card that the ticket was purchased on before she can check in.

I call Delta and of course there is nothing they can do its their policy in certain cities to prevent fraud. Of course they charged my credit card and got their money.

The ticket I purchased had a $75.00 rescheduling fee plus the ticket difference. Same flight on the 2nd was $40.00 less so it cost only $40.00.

Get this, I still have to go to the closest Delta ticket counter to confirm my credit card and ID before she can fly. Closest Delta counter is Kansas City 2 hours away.

I am so mad, depressed and frustrated. I haven't heard from Sheena since she left the airport. I know she is very upset just as I am. I havent felt this helpless in a long time.

Waiting another few days isnt a big deal considering how long this whole process has taken. I just cannot believe the hassle of this. Her cousin flew Delta 3 months ago and no one asked to see the credit card.

I was on the same airline when my flight was delayed for 48 hrs.. i already gave my fon, all my money to my mom and my mom was on her way back home when i found out the flight was cancelled. I had to borrow someone else's fon at the airport to call my mom and tell her to come back. The bad thing about it was i have to extend another day at the hotel plus they charge u for blah, blah ,blah . I had to fight with their airline personnel on the phone before they were able to give me another flight connecting to Atlanta.

The last flight I had with Delta was 2 months ago and it was okay. Sometimes things like this happens.

I'm glad we went with continental! My wife is on the exact same flight through guam and honolulu to houston arriving on the 13th. Be sure and post how the flight went for her (i've gone the same route in the opposite direction) and how the POE is.

Also is POE on this flight in Guam, honolulu or Houston as far as going through immigration? i thought it would be at the final destination of houston since they don't leave the gate area before that

I am happy things worked out for you. Today you should have your lady with you. It was a long trip she will be tired. I just want to tell you I hate Delta and I will not fly them anymore. Last time i was on Delta, my seat belt broke I just tugged it and the flight attendent was a snotty old maid who thought she could fix it. Mind you I have 10 years of Aircraft maintenance exp. and I told her, it needed to be replace.

I am happy for you

Generally, as a rule, airline tickets purchased by a person who is not part of the traveling party has to provide a copy of his/her credit card for the traveler to present to the airline counter at check-in.

If you used your own credit card, and you are part of the traveling party, they do not ask for your credit card anymore because they know you paid for the tickets yourself.

BigJohn: POE would be Guam...it's a breeze, I am told. Just make sure she has plenty of time in Guam to finish the immigration check (layover of 2 to 3 hours should be more than enough). The your SO would go through customs in Honolulu.

In October 2009 (when we moved to the US), Pippo and I were bumped off our connecting flight (we were at Atlanta, waiting to proceed to Tallahassee). Delta (then Northwest) had overbooked the flight (as usual), and no one wanted to give up their seats so we could go. In exchange, we received $400 each (yep, $800 total) and a bunch of meal vouchers. Not bad for our first day in the US. lol
