so,im worried that the information my SO sent me via UPS might get lost, and we might have to do the entire packet 3 again and that would go over our validity date for our noa 2.

we recently sent in the letter of extension of approval or whatever you call it via UPS,and low and behold, two weeks later they havent received it yet.i checked embassy's website and they do have fax numbers for both immigrant and non immigrant visa units, would we be able to fax them the letter and would it be fine?

( mods please do not move this post,i know it would be a better fit for the embassy subforum, but i need answers quickly )

I don't know if a fax will fly, but here is one thing I do know: If speed and reliability to send documents over there is an issue and UPS is not making the grade, consider DHL. They are the fastest I have ever used. They cost more than the competition ($110.00 to Russia, and I don't know about cost to Iran), but if you want the best, you pay for the best.

i know, you know fedex is even better than dhl.the problem is my SO is stationed literally in the middle of nowhere, and the only postal company close is UPS,its hella frustrating, specially when it takes fedex two days to get documents from canada to iran.

Is there maybe a private courier who can take the envelope from the nearest pickup point to where she lives? It is probably not cheap, but any amount of money is better than having problems with the visa process.

And what makes you think a quick answer from people who have never seen a consulate would be better than posting in a forum where more experienced people might read it? Makes no sense to me....

YMMV

because this forum gets the most action even more so than the embassy subforum,by " experienced people " actually makes perfect sense to me.im sure gary or jim or pushbrk have an answer for it

how do you know even more experienced people are in the K-1 forum MORE than the embassy forum? The K-1 gets more posts because people don't think and they just post any thread topic to the K-1 forum...

Do you think jim, gary and push just troll the K-1 forum? do you know about the "view new content" button? all the "experienced" members do. If you put it in the right forum it will be seen by jim, gary and push as well as a host of others...

just an aside... your answer is consulate specific so I am not sure Jim, Push or Gary will know the answer exactly... but common sense would dictate rather than waiting for some members of a immigration info board to happen upon your topic, to just do it yourself and ask. All consulates have e-mail accounts and as you mention fax numbers, and since a K-1 is handled by the IV unit... I guess you can tell which one to contact

It is a violation of the Terms of Service for Visa Journey to insult or make personal attacks against forum members. One such post has been removed. I would also ask other participants to try and be less confrontational with your posts.

thelastpetitioner, it has now been 24 hours since you first posted your thread in the K-1 forum. As Payxibka pointed out, the thread would belong better in the Consulate forum and many members do check posts by using the 'view new content' listing rather than reading through all of the forums. Since it has been in this forum for a day, I am going to move it to the more appropriate forum now and see if you can get some more useful information with it posted there.

Something to consider - there are other visas than K-1 that are being processed through the Consulates and it is very likely someone pursuing one of those visas will have valuable information for you - and they would probably never see your request in the K-1 forum as it isn't the visa they are pursuing, even though they are going through the same Consulate.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Two additional posts have been removed - one for violating TOS and the other for quoting the TOS violating comments. Acceptable parts of the posts are returned below through cut and paste:

i made a request,other than you no one objected,let it be,will ya?

So have you received your quick reply?

I think the reasons you placed this thread in k-1 forum are the exact reasons it is the wrong place for it...
