Thought I'd add a colorful story to the mix. About 6 years ago, a young Moroccan guy added me on Yahoo. We talked and talked for about a year, and it turned out he had a brother in the States who lived near me in Baltimore. I'd developed an online relationship with the guy, and his brother wanted to meet me for "family approval" or whatever. So I did. Not long after, things fell apart between me and the online guy, and I ended up dating his brother here in the States. We were really close, did everything together. Another brother of his had married a woman in Baltimore, and he got his visa and came here. We all hung out and had a great time together. Then he cheated on me with some girl he met in a club, I got pissed and married someone else (but that's a whole nother story  ). Anyway, I still kept in touch with my ex and his brother and sister in law, after all these years. We're friends on Facebook.

So, the day before yesterday, a Moroccan guy added me on Facebook, and I noticed he was also friends with my ex's brother and sister in law. He started chatting me- the normal fishing routine. And I asked him if he knew my ex and his relatives. And he said, "Yeah, they're my family". I was being fished by the twin brother of the guy I originally chatted with 6 years ago. They're STILL trying to find a way to get over here to Baltimore to reunite the family. Of course, he was totally mortified when he realized who I was and tried to play it off like he knew the whole time. I looked at his friends list, and it's all women from Baltimore that are 10 years+ older than him. You gotta watch out for these guys.

Its funny unless it is happening to you or someone you know

Whats mortifying are women who throw their kids under a bus for these guys.. For the guy, its an innocent game, con an older needy woman to get a ticket out of their country. Whats sad is when they have kids and they needed a real step dad or someone to help them grow and mom just wanted to either relive her childhood and forgot that as she took her journey, she needed to parent her kids. The children of the women duped by these guys are the real victims. You cannot begin to imagine the pain these guys inflict upon the children these women drag into these fleeting 4 year relationships. They build a relationship with someone who is only going after their mother for papers and end up very hurt

This is funny only if it didnt happen to you. I am glad you posted this. For years, no one could say a word about any of this fishing or marriage fraud and its just in the last month that I have seen any thread stay up and active about this subject

For the record, greencard fraud is the reason my daughter is here in the US and alive. Her dad fooled a puerto rican in the 1990s into going over to Morocco and direct consular filing for him. I met him 7 years later and we had my daughter. I feel sorry for anyone emotionally fished in and used and then thrown in the pursuit of living in in the US. Its not a victimless situation. The littlest victims are the children of the women duped by this

I don't think it's accurate to say for the guy, "it's an innocent game". There's nothing innocent about being deceitful and using another human being and their life for your own gain.

Out of curiosity, HIT, does your daughter have a meaningful relationship with her father? I forget how old she is now, but does she know about her father's way into the country? I don't mean to pry.

She is 6,no shes doesnt know,he pays child support but hasnt seen her in almost 3 years and lives now 10 states away. Hes still married to the woman who gave him papers but they havent seen each other in 11 years.

I am grateful to her. Shes puerto rican and from the bronx and quite pretty actually

For some guys , they arent really evil. They just want out out out of a bad situation. Its only evil if its you they are screwing or using or someone you care about.. Most of the women I have met show little compassion towards women who were hurt by this ( people presently married to mena) What kills me is when they pull out the whole she was an alcoholic story or some other fishy story as to why he left..Dude you left cause she was old, you wanted someone younger or from your culture and you got what you wanted DUH

Why do you have random men able to talk to you through FB chat?

When people add me, I just accept. You never know who might be interesting. Only about 25% of them end up being these guys. He was deleted straight away after this chat :P

 "lingerie man" was some Arab dude who would pop up uninvited on our IMs several times a month. The dialogue would start much as Sarah described, except that at some point he would insist that we send him pics of us in lingerie. This was happening to several of my friends on yahoo, and no one knew how to get rid of him. He never did anything lewd, but assumed that American women had lingerie pics handy to supply him. I haven't thought about that nutcase in more than a decade.

Ok, details please.

Girl, I don't know if you know about Moroccan music, but I used to chat with Tarik Batma, and his thing was feet. He'd ask for pictures of my damn feet. I only wanted to talk to him about music, and he was very married, and he didn't give a damn, he wanted to see "white toes". Men are crazy.
