Hi,

We just received our NOA2 after having our application successfully expedited on health grounds. However, we are confused as to what exactly is pushed through. Is it just the USCIS/CSC part, or is the whole process taken into consideration from this point on (e.g. NVC, Embassy etc).

Secondly, can someone shed some light on a general timeline from when the NOA2 is issued to when you get your pack 3/interview date...

Any help would be gratefully appreciated...

Thanks

C

Hi Chamie,

The normal processing time for the petition process is 5 months, if your expedition request was just approved you can expect an NOA2 in the next few weeks but I honestly can't give you a real time estimate. I would recommend calling USCIS and asking them if they can give an estimate now that it's being expedited.

Once you have the NOA2 (Approval) things will move much faster, your paperwork will be sent to the NVC so you'll want to call them to make sure they have received it and get your alien number, call them frequently so you'll know when it has been mailed and then when it has arrived at your embassy.

Once it has arrived at the embassy call the embassy to verify they have it then schedule the interview. You'll need to go to the embassy to get some paperwork so you can have the medical done and other things. Check around the website as you'll find more information regarding the post-NOA2 phase.

The expedite does not carry through to the embassy, you must contact them and notify them that your case has an expedite request that was granted. The embassy may so choose to expedite your case or may choose not to. It is up to their discretion. USCIS cannot force them to expedite neither can NVC.

K-1 cases usually are only at the NVC for about a week or so, they input your case information and generate a case number for the embassy.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

As Inky has said, your petition won't spend very much time at NVC so no worries there.

At the moment London embassy is running at about 2 months, between the case leaving NVC to interview date. This is based upon you getting the Packet 3 forms back to them in a timely manner.

Just in case you are not aware, you will need to take your police certificate along to your medical.

Follow the instructions on the Embassy website http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

And the last few VJ members to go through London have a timeline of about 2 months, from their case leaving NVC to the time of the interview. This could change, but doesn't usually go much above 3 months.
