Just wanted to drop by and say hello. Rin and I got back from Thailand/Singapore last saturday at midnight and are finally on US time. Had a great time, but ready to return. We hadn't been there for a year and a half. Interesting how her perception of Bangkok has changed after two years in suburbia USA. Too much traffic, too busy, too hot, too crowded, too polluted. Guess when I retire, we'll have to find a different part of Thailand to call home!

Daboyz - $8 for Singha is much better than the $11 they want for it here in Memphis. Haven't seen Chang around here. Getting ready to open the wine for the evening (Penfold's Koonunga Hills Cab/Shiraz). Inexpensive ($11/bottle - but we get a 40% discount as my daughter works at the wine market), but pretty tasty.

Hey ThaiThread,

Well...I haven't been on here in a while...so I've enjoyed reading this thread...now it is time for me to go pick up my wonderful wife AAm...and then we'll have some wine ourselves...I am particular to Koonunga hill also...

Keeping it short...I prefer Singha to Chang...but perhaps that is because I'm sentimental...cut my teeth of Singha and Tiger...love it...

I enjoyed the conversation about the red/yellow shirt/bar girls/etc...I work in IT and have a bachelor's degree in Accounting (from A&M...I think one of you guys went there too...Roi_Aggie I suppose)...but...I also have a bachelor's degree in Religion and am working on my master's degree in Theology...in my spare time...just for fun! So...I'll throw in some snippets from the religous side from time to time if no one minds....and it seems like there are some very open minds for conversation in here....so that is cool.

Lets see...I've met Daboyz before...cuz I did want to move back to Texas about 6 months ago...but didn't make it...ended up near DC because I got a new job here. Scott, I caught up on your journey! Well Done and great great great job! AAm and I will be be visiting the folks in Bedford, TX (my dad refuses to say he is from Dallas/Fort Worth) and we'll definitely catch up for beverages and a great TxThai evening(s)!

My wife is AAm, and she has been here for 2 years now, as of last week. 5 months ago she got her first job with an American company...FedEx...she works M-F 6am-2pm in their QC dept and LOVES IT!

We'll be filing for removal of conditions in a few months. We're also about half way through with getting her 14 year old daughter a visa. We would have done the 'join to follow' visa, but unfortunately I got laid off not long after AAm arrived and we got her greencard! So...I'm working again (hence the relocation) and now we've got AAm's daughter's visa rolling...she's wonderful...just like Mom.

Beautiful weather here my friends...wish you were here!

Chowk Dee!!!

What gave me away... the "Aggie" part of my ID?!

Welcome to our new thread, and I look forward to seeing more of your posts. You're right about our open discussions, and we certainly have a lot of different viewpoints here!

Good luck with your I-751. If you look at my time line, you'll see it isn't going very fast. Hell, we'll probably be submitting the N-400 before she get's her 10yr GC!

They say that the first sexual experience for an Aggie is either their sister, or some guy that was kicked out of Austin. Not sure which is worse.

On a differnt subject... Scott, where exactly are you in TX? When I first graduated I went to work for TI in the McKinney plant, and was living in North Dallas just south of Beltline in Addison. I then moved to The Colony, before going to Taiwan for a year. When I came back, I lived in Plano. I worked out at the Lewisville plant and also the Forrest Lane plant. I know the Dallas area WELL!

I live in Irving (Las Colinas) My office is 1000 yards from my apartment. I used to live in Plano. My good friend was an HR manager for TI at DFAB (whatever the hell that means) They transferred her to KL right before I left Thailand. Kind of a bummer.

I work at the Texas Verizon HQ now. Put in my 8 and go home. No more crazy trips to Pakistan and Bangladesh for me.

Second interview 2009-03-02 Approved

POE DFW 2009-03-07

Received SS card 2009-03-17

Received GC 2009-04-01

Done for 3 years or 10 years. Haven't decided yet.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

How 'bout them Cowboys! :D:thumbs:

I miss Dallas!!!

T.O. went to Buffalo. And Tony Romo is a crybaby.

Go Bears! We got Jay Cutler who-hoo

(btw - Danny is a Dallas lad too... you guys could all have a festive time together down there)

Not to sure about Danny, but after that photo he posted of Chada wouldn't mind meeting her.

That's a default #### kicking. I'll take it like a man.
