Man, I asked Ewok to pin this thread, the Malaysian Thread, and the Cambodian Thread. Nothing pinned yet. Only the Vietnamese gets pinned as well as Australia and New Zealand.

What's up with that?

I think I'm going to spend every January in Thailand from now on, just got back and it's rather depressing.

Also, any thoughts on this, at the POE they always seem to ask "how many times have you been to Thailand"? what is that about?

Spent the last 2 weeks in Thailand, now I'm back in the shitty midwest. Fabulous weather we have here. Maybe it's time for me to retire and move out there

Yes, I like the weather down there. But, the political climate between Cambodia and Thailand isn't good. I heard the the prime minister in Thailand isn't doing too good with the people. The prime minister in Cambodia is waiting for him to step down before he begins bilateral talks again. I'm scared to go into Thailand because I'm Cambodian to them, and not an American.

Does anyone have any suggestions on shipping a few heavier items to the states for a reasonable cost? There's no hurry, it's mostly photos, papers, and books.

Thanks

How many is a few, and how heavy? If you can fit them into two suitcases with a weight per suitcase no more than 23 kilos, then your best bet is to do this on your fiancee's flight to the U.S.

Even if it is over 23kilos pay the excess baggage charge. I found when looking to ship anything it was quite expensive.

A Thai friend of mine just got back from Chiang Mai. He went to the market there and when he went to buy some thing they asked if he was yellow shirt or red shirt. He said I am no shirt. They told him if he was yellow shirt the wouldn't sell to him. It's just getting stupid over there now.

The PM in Thailand is doing great actually.. the people who dont like him very much are likely the one who back Thaksin (Cambodian PM) Tell him to drop the stupid title he gave Thaksin and the relation will go back to the same way.. but nope, he values Thai's criminal than the relationship with Thailand that's why it's been quite a stir lately. The Thai PM though, said this is the governmrnt conflic and not the people conflic so he wont close the border or discontinue any project we have to help Cambodia people.

btw, I'm no color, I'm just a Thai.

OMG I should stop being obsess with politics, I got too stress and that's not good for my baby!
