Yeah upon my arrival into Thailand and seeing all of the pictures of the Royal family everywhere, it was quite a change from Texas. It was very interesting to see the pictures and statues all over the kingdom. I really cant wait to return.... with my Thai bride of course!!!!!

The King is highly revered by the public, yet he is also protected by the Constitution as "inviolable". The so-called 'lèse majesté' statute was stated in the Constitution for the first time during the Rama VII reign after the quarrel between the monarch and an individual. The monarch himself then has no right to charge anyone who violates him. Anyone who is charged with insulting, or defaming him can be prosecuted. If proven guilty, the penalty is to be jailed for three to fifteen years. In his 2005 birthday speech, Bhumibol said he would not take lèse majesté seriously, and that the King can have flaws. Despite that, charges are still often significant, and can be brought by the state, or any individual, and often a person's political opponents during the turmoil.

How can you find out if you are in AP at NVC? Also how can you find out if the BKK embassy received the case from NVC?

Call NVC and they will tell you if they still have it or if it's been sent on to the embassy. I think whenever they have it they tell you it's undergoing additional processing even if things are normal... they told me that but it wasn't at NVC any longer than expected. The phone people really only no one solid thing.. if it's at NVC or if it's been sent on. Anything else they tell you is suspect.

If you know when they sent it you can track it on DHL for what that's worth.
