Hey Guys/Gals,

I know we got a couple of interviews coming up: The fiancees of Brothers Scandal and Giram are interviewing on the 30th or so (I think)...anybody else?

Brothers UScandual and Giram...I can't remember...are you guys going over there for the interviews?

Peace and Prayers for Success!

MarkNAAm

We're on the 29th.. .Monday morning. I should hopefully know something by late Sunday night our time.

I am not going there. She's a big girl and can do this on her own. A little tough love for magic-girl!

Seriously.... she's as ready and confident as she can be.

I believe there are 4 coming up, 2 on the 29th and 2 on the 30th. Mike is on the 30th and he is flying over there.

We're up for an interview on July 15th early am. I think that we are ready...I know that I'm gonna be a 5th wheel for the interview process, but I want to go for the moral support & make sure that she has all of the paperwork organized (and we get there on time). I've got my fingers crossed.

Chok dee krap to the others queued up for the interview!

John if you intend to travel back together that is also a huge plus. I remember returning from Bangkok to LA last summer sitting next to a Thai woman. She had married an America professor who had taught in Thailand but had since returned to his home in California. I had to help her fill out the I-94 and customs declaration cards because she had never seen them before and her English was average. When she knew I spoke Thai, she didn't speak a word of English from that point. Just like when I know a Thai speaker is pretty good at English i.e. my fiancée, I resort to speaking English out of laziness.

I don't think that I'm going to be able to travel back with her, Unless I can motivate her to pack in a few days after we get the K1 green light.

BUT I've been thinking about how it might be difficult for her to navigate through San Francisco and POE paperwork...so now I'm thinking about snagging an extra copy of an I-94 card and show her what is expected when they give her one to be filled out. (She has good verbal English skills, but reading comprehension is so-so for the forms...hell, I need to read em a couple of times too after an 18 hr flight.)

Thanks for the suggestion and the reminder!

Now THAT is one BAD, NAUGHTY LADY!

Bad bad bad girl! Screws it up for the rest of us. If you read the Vietnam and China consulates, it seems that's old hat there so it makes it even more difficult for legitimate couples to get approved. I guess she thought money talks here the same as it does over there.

One thing the article was missing....Attempted BRIBERY charges! lol!

Well it depend on the style of the wedding, We had a county style wedding at my wife mothers house, not a formal one. If you think catholic wedding are long, Mine was 4 hours long, with 5 different ceremonies. That is not counting the party. In the end I think it cost me 5k for everything. Rings, Dresses oh yes they wear 2 of them haha, flowers, food, drinks, D-jay, dancer, monks, food for monks, photos, invitations and the big factor in this is the dowry.

I know many people have different views on the dowry so this may start a nice heated thread.

5k USD or THB? I'm guessing you mean USD, but I want to make sure. We are looking at a formal one. Preliminary guesses are around 2k THB/table for the hall/food alone (not too bad I think). Looks like there are 2 or 3 hotels that are reccomended in Udon for this sort of thing too.

As far as the sin sod, I'm definintely not looking to start a debate on that one. Too many of those over on Thaivisa.com as it is.

Yeap 5K USD, does that cover the drinks or you have to supply that. It is funny how everything adds up. Have to do gifts, DJ, flowers, cake, hair and makeup, photos, rings. My wife do not go all out and was on the cheap side of buying thing, she ready work hard at keeping the cost down. But its adds up fast and hard to say no to some things. It was her first wedding and the first wedding of the family. I think the county style wedding has more cost to it, but I think more fun and more.

Well I been on Thaivisa.com and read some post there, There are a different crowd of people!!!
