Thanks Roi, G-325 A... I'll have to go look - I dont know where it's at :o Thanks for clearing things up.. I think I'll put my host family in the US as the address for the whole time I was in the US as an aupair including traveling.

What will you put in part 7 A and B thought? since you are mostly outside of the US in the first 2 of 5 years? wont that look really bad?.. Oh i'm out of the US for 600+ days during the past 5 years? - at least on C - it said 'since becoming a lawful permanent resident' so that problebly clear up.... I just think they should have that instead of the last 5 years.. over thinking again :P

FUNNY STORY!!

I just looked back at my I-751 which I filed in March 2008. I stated that Bram and I moved to our new house from December 2008 - present!! :o And they didnt catch it!!! Hope they didnt look back on my I-751 application to compair the date!

Anya, I have now finished going through the "A Guide to Naturalization", the instructions for N-400, and a pinned thread under the Naturalization forum. According to the following:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=2845698

You can simply cross out the 5 on part 6 and 7 and replace with 3, as that is all we are required to answer, by law. I think I will do that, to make things easier! (We have NOT been outside the US since Ooi arrived) For part 7.C., it wants every trip outside since PR, so 3 or 5 years doesn't apply.

Robert

I thought I read somewhere that you were supposed to do that but then the instruction on N-400 didnt say anything about it so I wasnt so sure.

Lucky for you, you dont have to worry about this  But I'd have gone mad if I didnt get to go home at least  - well.. just for the food :innocent:

2 things I noticed during my last two trips:

  1. They really rape you at BKK airport with the exchange rate. They would only give me 32.5 THB for 1 USD, and outside of the airport it is 34 or more.
  2. ATMs are now charging fees for withdrawals. Looks like 150 baht and up. This must be a recent change, because I never remember paying fees before my May visit.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

That 150 baht thing sounds new. Wells Fargo always charged me $5 for every ATM withdrawl over there. Try to take 20k baht each time so the blood sucking banks don't get theirs.

Where's my bailout?

Never exchange money at the airport. I always bring back some baht with me so I have enough money to get into town and exchange money or use an ATM.

The ATM fee is new, I think that started in March.

And also we dont have 2008 tax yet. We ask for extention or what ever so I think I should wait for that. And have to print out new pictures... (the copy ones are black/white) and some info changed.. at least I have 10 years I dont have to worry about anything but I just want to get this over with!

Someone on TV told me about Schwab...Charles Schwab. No ATM fees and zero fees worldwide for anything. I mean not a single thing! My last trip I returned from BKK, they refunded all the OTHER's atm fees (these fees weren't even Schwabs) but they have a zero fee atm policy (even if the charges are by another bank) and they also give the LIVE FOREX rate (down to the hour as far as I can tell).

free postage deposit slips and envelopes...everything is free so far that I can see (really)!

I just opened another account, ordered another atm card and the family will keep it there. It's the absolute cheapest way to get money there....they give the REAL exchange rate with no fees. That sold me and I applied for an account within minutes of learning that. I told my lawyer's office and they said "we already knew that secret; we use them, too".

I asked how they can do all that and they said they make their money from non-banking activities and they use these no fees banking services to naturally draw people into investing. So far, its' working...has me thinking a lot more when I wasn't considering it much before.

Their website isn't as smooth as other banks but it's all there-jsut extra clicks since they're new.

Just wanted to share a good deal so you don't have to get ripped off again! (make sure you call the 1800 travel alert periodically until the card develops a w/d pattern...both Schwab and Visa need this call...6 months and you won't have to call anyone anymore).
