My landlord in BKK. I had to transfer all of his files from his MAC to his PC. His next question was "if I throw this in the water, will it ever be recoverable?"

I think I might buy that Beheading of John the Baptist art... Your landlord wasn't a Thai person...was he?

I'm having a headache trying to answer questions in the N-400 form.

I'm wondering though, since the form wants work and place you lived in the last 5 years - but you was supposed to apply for citizenship based on marraige (3 years residency) Do I still have to provide them 5 years worth of info?

And what if you actually take a month off traveling? After my contract for AuPair ended, I went traveling for a month before I went back home. I dont know what address to put in there since I wasnt at my host family house anymore and I cant put the address in Thailand since I was still in the US..... or should I just skip that month? Am I thinking too much into stuff?

VJBrothers/VJSisters,

I have a very unique 'twist' of a story here that ONLY people on VJ can truly appreciate...you guys are going to LOVE THIS story!

As you guys know, AAm and I have been been married for a couple years now, and we have to apply for lifting of condition to get her 10 year green card in 2 months (August).

So...I've been saving all types of proofs to send in as evidence that we're weally weally in wuv and mawwied! As VisaVeterans, you guys all know well what I'm talking about...

So, AAm and I have filed 2 years of joint income taxes since she received her 2 year greencard, which is great evidence for the 10 year greencard petition. However, here is the great twist, AAm and I were also audited by the IRS for both years! The IRS has been 'fighting' with me via tons of SnailMail for about 6-8 months...sending us TONS of hatemail, in BOTH of our names, in full govermental IRS letterhead, to our current address!

Anyways, as of TODAY, I have defeated the IRS (Likewise, as it is the same with our visajourney, without the help of any Frkn atty!)! I received their final correspondence today in which they wave the white flag of surrender and proclaim my innocense :innocent: (Again, written to both AAm and I, at this address, for jointly filed taxes for 2007&8)

Its an extremely ironic and beautiful twist that the goverment audits of our joint income taxes, conducted by the government agency of the IRS, will now serve as VERY SOLID proof of the legitimacy of our marriage to the other goverment agency to whom we are applying for AAm's 10 year greencard, Homeland Securities/USCIS! HA! How do you like them thar apples Big Govt!?!?!? ;-)

Like I said, only the VJVets can really appreciate the exquisite irony of all this...!

Peace Brothers and Sisters! Its time for a bit of the ol' bubbly...

Brother Scott - I can truly empathize with ya.

Give her the time here that she deserves. I too would like to go back! But, AAm deserves to have her time in this country, and now is her time! I suspect that the case is the same for NOK. Let her try to get her US citizenship in a few years...then you can jump back and forth all the time, which will suit you both!

Our time will come again my brother!

Good story Brother Mark!

I always enjoy hearing heartwarming tales of the little guy standing up to Big Bad Mr. Taxman!

Way to pwn the IRS and USCIS simultaneously

Yes, scandal was a good boy today. Actually was quite productive till I broke down and gave into the VJ cravings this afternoon.

Careful Sister Anya... A question like that (Do I still have to provide them 5 years info?...) is liable to get you classified a 1st class Grade A N00B Chopf##k by some folks I know... I am much more charitable to a kindhearted Thai sister. Yes, you should give them all the 5 years history. Don't mess with the guvmint.

Yes Anya, you have to list the last 5 years in Part 6.A! List everywhere you've lived since arriving in the US, and then use the information from your G-325A that you submitted for AOS.

As for Part 6.B, just list where you worked for the last 5 years, and what periods. Once again, use information from your AOS G-325A. You don't have to account for periods you did not work. For that matter, you didn't need to work, as has been the case with my wife. I will simply repeat the same information from her G-325A.

For your time of traveling, that will be accounted for in Part 7, where you have to list all your trips outside the US, dates, and number of days.

PAY ATTENTION ALL YOU OTHER VJ'RS THAT WANT TO GO ON TRIPS OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY!!!!

This is the reason Ooi and I have stayed PUT since she got here. Less ####### to keep track of.

Anya, just follow the directions and don't overthink them. Don't worry, I'm right behind you, and may start filling out the paperwork now, so we can double check each other.

Robert

Thanks Roi, G-325 A... I'll have to go look - I dont know where it's at :o Thanks for clearing things up.. I think I'll put my host family in the US as the address for the whole time I was in the US as an aupair including traveling.

What will you put in part 7 A and B thought? since you are mostly outside of the US in the first 2 of 5 years? wont that look really bad?.. Oh i'm out of the US for 600+ days during the past 5 years? - at least on C - it said 'since becoming a lawful permanent resident' so that problebly clear up.... I just think they should have that instead of the last 5 years.. over thinking again :P

FUNNY STORY!!

I just looked back at my I-751 which I filed in March 2008. I stated that Bram and I moved to our new house from December 2008 - present!! :o And they didnt catch it!!! Hope they didnt look back on my I-751 application to compair the date!
