Not everyone going through Thailand is K-1.

My suggestion a few weeks back was to have only one thread, because two threads is too confusing, and anyway we wind up drifting conversations between immigration related and non-immigration all the time.

However you are quite right, that the K-1 forum is the wrong place. It belongs here in the regional forums.

Hence I suggested that we close Sawasdee 3 and Thailand, and start a new thread (my preference would be Sawasdee-4) here in the regional section.

And I would ask Ewok to pin it, it really does deserve to be pinned.

Sounds good to me as well.

You're nominated to ask Ewok! ;)

I dont think you need to close the old one as there are a lot of information in it - well.. we can link the old one to it but we also can use it until it gets too large like the other Sawasdee :)

I've been gardening and my holy basils are doing pretty well - but my Thai chili and Thai eggplant are not coming up at all

We will certainly link to it, and if you notice everytime you post in it, you see the other Sawasdee threads as well. Better to only have one open thread so people don't get confused as to where to go.

:secret: I was hoping you'd pop in and comment, as you and I are the only ones left from the original thread.

As for your chilis and eggplants, are you using chicken poop to fertilize? It really makes a big difference, isn't too expensive, and won't "burn" your plants! :)

LOL - I know.. old habit dies hard! I have to at least get my daily news from OT

Bram got the dirt - top soil and manure - a truck full - and they said it's chicken poop  I should put some thing (I forgot what it called) to mix with it though as it's now very hard and heavy soil... If this new batch or seeds dont start up i'll just give up on it :crying:

oh yea and i've known since I was young that chicken poop will burn the plant.. I dont know why is it not here?????? or is it a myst?

Are you starting the seeds in separate pots? You should really start them in small pots with a mixture of peat moss and potting soil along with some Miracle Grow, then once they've got going, transfer them to the ground, making sure the dirt is nice and lose, then just sprinkle some chicken poop around the base of the plant.

My wife is perpetually amazing...

My wife is perpetually amazing. All week, we've been having a Global IT Conference (I do IT for ERP systems...specifically SAP) here in the USA...so we've had global IT teams in the USA all week.

On Thursday night, we had 40 of the IT folks come to our house for dinner. AAm was amazing! My wife, besides being an Angel, is also an amazing chef! She spent Mon-Weds 'prepping' for the event, and then on Thursday night served the most amazing Thai dinner (and a LLOOTT of appetizers) to a pretty large crowd at our pad.

I, personally, being of absolutely no skill, stuck to wine-pouring :thumbs:

At times though, AAm would let me help her by holding the pot handles if she needed both hands for stirring, which is the case with the shrimp padthai she made (and then chicken padthai).

Naturally, I would never have been able to host such an event without AAm! And, AAm was so gracious! Our house has an 'open kitchen'...so we had people from all over the globe in there with her all night taking lessons and AAm just chit chatted the night away as she whipped out amazing dish after dish after dish. :star:

She really brings a home, and really any event, to life

After everyone left at about midnight, she went to bed. She had a lot of fun, but she certainly worked hard! Plus, she had to get up at 5am to go to her job at Fedex. What a trooper!

I was more than happy to take over at midnight and clean up the 'skullery'...by washing all the dishes...thats about as much help as I could be in the kitchen to someone as talented as AAm ;)

Well...guys...we can just add this to the list of wonderful advantages of having wonderful Thai wives! AAm is a true blessing....!!!!

I guess if we wanted to add some 'immigration' conversation to the topic, I did take a bunch of pictures of AAm being the 'life of the party'...so those will be going into our package when we file to lift conditions in a few months...

Peace to all for a good weekend,
