Sounds great so far. What about working? Have your own house? How is your savings and banking? How introduced to your wife? Does she have family here? Have business dealings with any of her family? Does she speak English at all?

Also why in Gods name would you live in Maine?

yes i do have a job, i make about $40k a year and i own a house. my wife have been taking english classes in vietnam but complains that they cant pronounce some words correctly. so i would rate her speaking to only about 20% efficiency. i have a checking and savings account with not much in it most of my money goes toward my mortgage. my cousin intro her to me because they went to school together she does have family in canada. why do i live in maine? i love maine. the largest city have a population of only 600k, i can walk around downtown drunk off my #### at 2 in the morning and get home unharmed. it's a big change from long beach cali to portland maine but i love everything about maine. hope my wife can handle 2 ft. of snow we currently have on the ground haha!!

Do you have pictures? For my wife interviewed, that was all they care about. That may be partially because of what I submitted to USCIS and NVC. I just submitted the marriage license (original and translated) to quickly get through the process in the “USA” part. Seeing how difficult it was to get the marriage license in Vietnam, I figure the government knows that too. Another reason I did this was to cut down the amount of information they had as ammunitions for questioning my wife. Lastly, my wife can speak confidently so I was confident she can handle the interview. I told her to treat it like she was interviewing for a job so she has to show the confident to be a cut above the rest.

If you were never married, make $40K and made the trips, I rate your success rate at 65%. If you wife can handle an “intensive” interview, IMHO you success rate is 95% as long as it is real and she doesn’t lie to any of the questions…”I don’t know” can be a very powerful answer! Lastly, tell her to be humble and smile!

It sounds like a pretty good shot but as you know there are many things that the consulate looks at and hence the questions. Just make sure she knows you very well and anything and everything for the interview.

I was kidding about living in Maine. It is beautiful country up there but the people talk funny.whistling.gif

This type of reply does not help anyone and in my opinion is far from the truth.

Showing the development of your relationship from how you were introduced to first meeting to present is important. A sampling of emails/chats/snail mails helps. Photos from the various trips showing the two of you with family and friends. All the things that two people do when together in a serious relationship.

If not already done (and submitted) you may want to write up a relationship timeline along with a listing of all her relatives in the US (if any). These are often requested. If not needed, then it's just some wasted effort and paper. If requested, you are prepared.

Also I would say that it may be helpful to do up a ten year residence for both in case it is asked for.
