Renewing Greencard

So a friend of mine was wondering how soon does her husband have to file the I-90 form? I wasn't sure and said I would ask here. I want to say 90 days before it expires but then on the form in section 2 "reason for application" one of the options is "my existing card will expire in 6 months or has already expired."

Up to 6 months before the expiration of the 10y GC.

The 90 day rule is for when you can send in your ROC (90 days before exp of 2y GC), or apply for citizenship (90 days before qualifying time).

Confirm with friend if it is a 2 year conditional card or a 10 year un-conditional card.

If 2 year conditional card they will be filing an I-751 to remove conditions and get un-conditional card.

If 10 year card then yes will be filing an I-90 to renew.

Thanks for the replies. He has a 10 year card as do I. Mine expires in 2013 and I'm waiting for him to get back with me on when his expires. I think its late 2011 or early 2012. He came here on a k-1 Visa and got married the last week in April of 01. I'm not sure if they filed AOS right away but I think they did.
