JoyDee,

do you really believe that an entire continent is a good analogy to a tiny island the size of two california counties? Even so, lets look at what you are saying. Clearly if you lived in the south or west coast you would see how deeply impacted we are by illegal mexican immigration, and clearly what affects mexican in turn affects us. No one said that because of this we should open up borders so im not sure where you pulled that out of. You dont live here so you can't comprehend the impact that Haiti has on us. Haitians and Dominicans have bad blood in general, so im sure your fiance isnt giving you the whole story. Your numbers arent telling you about the non-listed cholera cases in the DR, and the reason we have less deaths is because unlike haitians, instead of voodoo magic we use gatorade to cure cholera. Not to mention since the earthquake the constant flood of haitians, begging in streets, robbing, and murdering innocent Dominicans. You have no idea how offensive you are, implying that dominicans dont deserve to have expedited cases whereas haitians do. You really are ignorant to the problems of my country. A typical American, protecting you and your fiance, and making claims with little understand to other culture.

I said nothing derogatory or insensitive about DR, but you have said a number of negative things about Haiti. It is that attitude that DR has shown time and time again. You want to say that the DR is the same as Haiti and use that to get an expedite but then you want to push that Haitian are "Voodoo" practitioners and clearly backwards. Pull yourself together. WE are all human. And i am Haitian American, thank you very much. I have a very clear understanding of the relationship between Haiti and DR. You guys are racist.

Folks, this is not about which culture is superior to another. It is about an incredible expedite the OP got despite not asking for one.

Whether he deserves it or not is not the issue either. That is another debate which I won't get into in his thread. I made my position on that quite clear elsewhere. Here, it is not relevant.

He did the right thing by putting the interests of his fiance first, above and beyond all else, regardless of what anyone else, including me, might think, and I respect him for that.

The OP put nobody's interests ahead of their own. They simply filed a petition like the rest of us.

Technically you could say that. I was just trying to express that the OP made the right decisions and has nothing to apologize for to anybody.

If anybody does not like it or does not like that they got approved in 16 days, that is not the OP's problem, nor should it be.

Last i checked hatian isnt a race, its a nationality, so im not sure how im racist, especially since we are all part of the same human race. It is a known fact that haiti is a backwards society, its the poorest country in the world and has one of the most corrupt governments. Thats why so many haitians come here illegally cause they cant stand living in their own country. Considering that the island is the size of about two american counties, you can see how easily this affects the DR. We arent the richest country on the planet ourselves, and we dont have the strongest government. you are trying to play the oh poor haitians card and act like we are some country with superior recources that we dont want to share with haiti. You say you are haitian american? How many times have you been to haiti? How many times have you lived with the haitian people? You are american first and haitian second, so dont try to act like you are really a haitian.

"Racism is the belief that the genetic factors which constitute race, ethnicity, or nationality are a primary determinant of human traits and capacities..."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism

Regardless, I think you would do well to avoid casting aspersions on "the Haitian people".

Definately congratulations on the speed of the NOA 2, but as I am in my 4th month, I am not jealous or envious of you. I am happy for you, but afraid that with the expeditied NOA2 date, it has cut off that much more time from you preparing for your big day. I am glad I have had this much time so far to try and better prepare for the hardships to come.

But I hope the best for you and your loved one... Just dont let the trolls get to you..... We are all in the same boat, and we are all a family in some regards... it's just a shame that we must bicker from time to time... But as for everyone disturbed by the news, your day will come, in due time... and we will be just as happy for you as we are them.

Congrats again, may the rest of your journey be enjoyable....
