Good question!! I have absolutley NO idea. I didnt have a fancy package. I put everything in that VJ suggested but didnt go overboard. Just a lil of this and a lil of that. I even thought I would get an RFE because I didnt know my ex husband's A number!!! So I just gotta give all the credit to God.

Well, I'd at least give some credit to the laudable humanitarian effort of the US government to expedite all Haitian petitions ;)

Your comment is uncalled for and insensitive. He *did* congratulate this lucky couple and then express his justified frustration honestly. And for that you publicly question his character? This type of community will best serve the members if we try to be compassionate and comfort those who are feeling frustrated, not by knocking them down at a time when we all are already vulnerable.

Thank you for saying that. I felt the same way when I read the posts. He did congratulate them, but after waiting over 5 and 6 months it is very frustrating, never knowing when something is finally going to happen. But receiving our NOA2 was the best part of the whole process so far!

I disagree with you. But then we can always agree to disagree on this issue. :)

Well, it was only a matter of time before this thread took this turn. Unfortunately, simply congratulating someone (who never even asked for an expedite, so everything is completely out of their control) seems to be impossible.

Yes, your approval happened incredibly fast, but as Haitian petitions are expedited, it is not as surprising. I hope my following thought does not offend you (or any other petitioners with Haitian beneficiaries), but I think it unfair that Haitians would get their petitions expedited, yet Dominican petitions are not. I think it unfair because of mainly two reasons: since Haiti and the Dominican Republic are the same island (Hispaniola), what affects one country affects the other. For instance, the cholera has now spread to some areas of the DR. Also, the Haitian migration to the DR has put added stress on already precarious resources and economic opportunities.

VERY well said. I am very happy for the OP to have only 16 days wait time, however...he lives and works in the Dominican Republic not Haiti...doesn't it seem like ALL Dominican residents should be given the same awesome treatment? Just saying as this topic hits close to home for those of us who have our loved ones in the Dominican Republic.

Congratulations again :)

This morning I checked Case Status to see if they finally had my case in the system. I logged in and it showed Post Decision Activity. Our I129f was approved. I really feel so blessed. Keep the faith my friends. I pray everyone has such a smooth process. The crazy thing is.....Edouardo doesn't believe me. He lives in DR where they experience many power outages so he has no internet access. I hope he can check soon and know Im not playing a bad trick on him.

I know he wants to believe me, but wants to see it with his own eyes. He never expected it to happen so fast.

I feel everyone should wait their turn and visas filed in order and I think that speaks higher of my character than those like you who publicly claim they have no objection to someone being processed 5 months before them for no good reason. Piss off.

I understand everyone's frustration and feel it is justified. At the same time, I am happy for anyone who can be relieved from the miserable feeling I've had waiting on an NOA2 for over six months. They say miserly loves company, but in this case, I wouldnt wish this pain on my worst enemy. Congrats and good luck in the rest of your journey.
