I've seen a few topics regarding this, but I was wondering what the best route is. I had my interview on Monday and am waiting to get my passport back. I've been stalking DHL's website, but there's still no record for my reference number. I keep going to https://www.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/p and checking the status, but nothing has been updated. There's no direct number for the Dorval branch I signed up for so DHL (using the general number) told me to contact the consulate. I called 514.400.2591 and they said it takes 3-7 business days. Today the woman said that they find out after it's already been delivered. I don't want to stay here unnecessarily when it's there so I was wondering if anyone knows the fastest way to find out if your passport is ready to be picked up. I'm trying every way I know. I tried to pick the Dorval DHL as it's pretty close to the Montreal consulate and I thought it might reach there faster. How is the best way to find out if my passport and visa have left the consulate and are ready to be picked up?

Your visa may not even be printed yet. Generally the reference number or the DHL way-bill number is only posted when your visa is printed and sent to be mailed.

Yikes, I hope it's posted soon. I know they do things in batches, but I'd really love to leave here soon. I'm staying at a hotel, because I already live in the US. They said I couldn't pick it up the next day, though. :( Is DHL's website the most reliable way to track my passport? When I had called DHL with my reference number they said it doesn't sound like one of their numbers. Weird.

DHLs website will usually post it when its already at their place i'm not sure if its the best way to track it. They usually show it as "undeliverable" on the DHL site and thats when you know to pick it up.

I would call dept of state to see if its printed yet, they will be likely able to tell you atleast that much.

I hope you don't have to stay in a hotel too long either that really sucks! why wouldn't they let you pick it up same day or next day?? seems ridiculous..

Thank you and I have no idea! :( Honestly, they're so busy there that they barely interacted with me to begin with. I probably was asked less than 10 questions between the three people I dealt with and they were just typing at the computer while I talked. I just want to leave here, because I'm already missing a week's worth of school. I will call the Department of State as I haven't tried that yet. I hope to get some news today.

I don't see why you couldn't pick it up the next day then if they printed it that quickly! Silly Montreal.

Hopefully DHL pops up soon for you so you don't have to stay much longer.

I have a question. My fiancee and I are long in the K-1 process and have been desperate for any updates at all. Many posters have a list of the status of their visa with the consulate in their signatures...where would we find this on the consulate's site?
