On this community we have time lines for almost everything, except receiving your visa. My fiance had an interview on the 21st of this month, and we are still waiting for her visa, which seems to be the most painful part of the whole process, especially since how scary our interview was. I would like to start a time line for receiving your visa. So please guys, if you will oblige, post to this topic: your interview date and the date you received your visa. If you haven't received it yet, please indicate that as well.

I'm waiting on my passport and visa, too. I had my interview on Monday, the 24th and the Department of State verified it was issued on the same day. We've been calling DHL (the general number as the branch I registered at does not have a direct line) and the Montreal line. We were just told by DHL that the Montreal consulate calls DHL when they have about 50-60 passports to be picked up. The Dorval branch picks it up and distributes it to the other branches. I'm hoping the Dorval branch gets the passports today at least. Does anyone's reference number show up on DHL? Mine has no record so far.

canadagirl what type of visa did you get approved for? we applied and were approved for a k-1 visa and still do not have a reference status change or anything since Jan 12th. If they are waiting for 50 to 60 passports to ship then it should be about time....we've been waiting 2 and a half weeks so far.

I just got my fedex'd medical package yesterday with the chest x-ray and a brown manila envelope that states "do not open"..or else!!

I have no idea how to do the DHL thing, but I better figure it out soon as my interview is on the 24th of Feb. It looks like the closest location is about 2hrs from me, even though I know we have a DHL location 2 minutes from where I work..#######??

I am going to beg/plead with them to let me have it before I leave MTL. I am staying there for a few days and maybe they'll let me come back to pick it up later..it doesn't hurt to ask right?BTW I am a CR-1.

Daniellesm07, that's a long wait! It seems unusually long. I've heard it can take 10 business days, but yours has passed that. Have you tried calling recently? We've been calling each day. Mine is a family sponsored immigrant visa. I posted on another thread and a poster told me to call the Department of State. I went to the website http://contact-us.state.gov/cgi-bin/state.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php and called the number for Visa Information: 202-663-1225. We were on hold for about 10 minutes and then the guy asked for my case number. He was able to see that the issue date was the day of my interview. I would suggest calling to see what is going on. It definitely won't hurt.

tri_gear, this helped me: http://csc.public.s3.amazonaws.com/Canada/How%20to%20Register%20for%20Courier%20Services.pdf I suggest registering before the interview in case they refuse your request. They don't make exceptions very often it seems.

Jill & Jeff, wow, that's wonderful your wait was so short! I hope ours isn't much longer. I'm hoping for the Dorval branch to get it today. I plan on going there anyway even though nothing is showing up on the website.

thanks canadagirl! we took your advice and called the DOS and they said the visa was approved, issued and in his passport on the 14th. Now its just a matter of shipping. I cant believe this is taking this long. We only have 6 months plus the 90 day rescriction on the marriage part. So lets hurry up please! I am getting very ansy here waiting for him in the US. And we've called just about everyday since the 4 day mark passed. Im suprised they havent gone off on him everytime he calls :) LOL

Wow, that's crazy nothing has showed up even on the website! Does your branch has a number? Mine (the Dorval branch) doesn't have one unfortunately. I hope it ships to you soon especially since six months is not a lot of time. Which DHL location did you choose? And the Montreal number isn't very helpful at all!

Nothing on the DHL or the consulate website! His location is Brampton which is about 40 mins from Toronto where he lives. The number is the headquaters direct to the Brampton branch which is good but with out the waybill number they cannot help us. We are just relieved that the visa is in the passport.

I replied to you personally already, but I want to write something public on the forum too.

I interviewed on January 19 for a CR-1 visa. I was approved, but I too have no waybill number showing up on the CSC site. I'm still waiting.

I'm fed up.

I have a 3-month-old baby who's never actually lived with my husband--her dad. She wasn't even conceived when we began this process. In fact, I could almost have had TWO full-term pregnancies in the time it's taken to get this immigration thing done! So, Montreal: Hurry UP. You are keeping families apart. Never forget that.

C.
