I completed G-325, I-485, I-130 and all the supporting documents. Here's the thing, my sister is a joint sponsor and she supposed to mail me the I-864 with all the required documents this week. But unfortunately she has not recieved her Tax returns etc which she requested from IRS. So she told me it'll take 2 more weeks and thats most important document needed for I-864. Should I wait before I file everything?

One more thing, dont forget to file an I-765 for a work permit "EAD", this will provide you with a handy photo-ID which you can then use to apply for SSN, and then in most states apply for State ID and/or Driver's license.

Note Question 16 is ( c ) ( 9 ) based on pending I-485,, the Fee for I-765 is waived in this case. File it with the I-485..

From what I heard, you can use your EAD to get a SS number. Once you get ur SS number, you can apply for a DL. But sometimes DMV in different states has different requirements. :)

No, actually you may apply for DL in Georgia with your EAD, you don't have to wait for your GC.

Print the page out, highlight EAD card listed as proof of legal presence in US and pay them a visit. Apparently the lady you spoke to has no idea what's on their official website or she has no idea that there are many other ways to show your legal presence in US other than a GC.
